Suite 9316 - Getaway - experiences

Anyone sail recently in 9316 on Getaway?  Booked for the huge balcony and Haven perks.  Just wondered who your butler was and how well he/she did.  Also, wondering if any issues with vibration in this aft cabin?  Any advice or tips greatly appreciated.  Sailing out of NYC on March 18 - so hoping warm enough to use the balcony before we have to wait to be more south.  Also, who was your concierge - always find them so helpful?

We've sailed in 13902 twice  which is an aft-facing Haven with master. You definitely win on the balcony size! You're going to love it. We had friends who sailed in 9316. They didn't mention any issues with their cabin (vibrations, soot, etc.).

As for us, we did experience some soot coming down on our balcony a couple days, smoke from the funnel made the balcony unusable some times, and we did notice some vibrations, but nothing like recent posters have mentioned. I think their thoughts on vibrations are far different than mine as we sailed just before some of those comments (sailed in January, most recently).

Ignore the posters that are complaining. You'll have a great time, though there will be some hiccups. Be sure to coordinate having Shanghai Noodle Bar food being delivered to your room at least one night. You won't have to wait in the ridiculous line...thank g-d for the Haven!

I thank you for the detailed comments - we are so much looking forward to this balcony - if weather good - want breakfast there most days.  And noodle bar info appreciated - any other tips - feel free to tell me more - getting excited - 30 days to go!

That’s awesome.  My daughter would eat from Shanghai every other night.  I didn’t think there would be room service for that.  Will definitely look for that.

Hi,

I was in 9316 December 2019.  Excellent cabin! Of course it's a distance from the Haven area but we didn't miss it. We stayed on the balcony a LOT! The balcony was exactly the reason we booked this cabin and it was everything we thought it would be.  We ate a lot of meals on that balcony too.  IMO it's the best view on the ship! In 17 days I'll be in just about the same place aboard the Escape, cabin 9318.

There is....but it's only for Haven with a butler. Sorry, I didn't explain. 9316 is a Haven room, so that's why I mentioned it. It should be a room service option. Would it really be that difficult? And it might cut down on that gigantic line that forms before every service.

We were in Getaway 9316 in July 2022. I don't recall any extra vibrations in the cabin. The balcony was awesome.

Our butler was Rex and concierge was Roel. Rex was very attentive -- actually, almost "too" attentive, as it felt like to me that he was ringing our doorbell many times throughout the day to just check to see if we needed something. I had to start remembering to put up the "do not disturb" indicator.

We didn't interact with Roel very much. We tend not to use concierge service for anything except using them as escorts to get off the ship faster. When we used concierge for that, it usually was not Roel. We saw him maybe three times the whole cruise, which was fine for us.

To be honest, I was less than impressed with the room itself. This was our first time on a 'newer' NCL ship, having previously only done Jewel class ships and POA. What I thought when I entered this super-expensive suite was that it looked cheap, with "laminate" instead of wood, etc. The space was tight, with low ceilings (we are a tall family) and narrow passageways. Value for the dollar is much better on the older ships.

We loved the aft location, and its proximity to the casino and buffet. All in all, it was a very nice cruise (even though my son came down with Covid toward the end :().

I hope you have a great vacation!
