hokiefans Posted February 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2023 Hi there....we are thinking about about a May cruise with Azamara. I have been through several threads for newbies but cannot find any inforamtion on this and would appreciate your help. The cruise we are looking at says boarding time is between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. We cruise often with Princess and note that boarding time is often much ealier than what what is officially stated. What is the normal boarding process at the pier? thanking you in advance hokiefans
Grandma Cruising Posted February 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2023 Since COVID, boarding is usually from 2pm. When you check-in on your account on the Azamara website you can choose a time. To register an account on the Website, click on My Account then on Create an Account.

My last in December in Miami was given a group number when arrived then through security then checkin desk then up to waiting area where first group was called for boarding at 2pm (they checked your group ticket before being allowed to board). Pireaus was given a group number and sat in waiting area before that group was called to go check in then through security and onto ship. Ravenna no group number given but was positioned in a seating area row to wait, then gathered a row at a time to go check in then into another waiting area before getting called for boarding. Once boarded you get taken to your muster station for safety briefing then free to go about the ship.

Any body know if we'll be allowed to board as a group, or only according to our chosen check-in time?

No asked to see what those times were. We were all given the same number, and boarded together.

Once we got to the port no-one asked us about our embarkation time, just gave us a group number based on how many were ahead of us. 1
jasardeax Posted March 18, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 18, 2023 Our only check in experience with Azamara was our Islands of the Mediterranean back in October 2022. We DID NOT do online check-in at all. We departed from Civitavecchia, and arrived ship side at about 2PM. We were on the ship by 2:30 PM, did the small group muster drill, and were in our cabin by 2:45 PM. Our luggage arrived 15 minutes later. Overall, an efficient and easy experience. Hope it works as well on our upcoming April cruise.
cruisinclined Posted March 21, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 21, 2023 Is the self service restaurant open for the late arrivals or is is wise to snack before arrival?

Grandma Cruising Posted March 22, 2023 #14 Share Posted March 22, 2023 If embarkation is delayed then your options may be limited. We didn’t get onboard in Rio until 4:30. Windows was closed and the Patio was not open. There were some sandwiches & cake in Mosaic coffee bar and some Tapas in the living room
