Starlink on Serenade

Apparently in a dead zone off the coast of Guatemala (at least from a satellite placement standpoint). Still getting service, but frequent cutouts.

Took 45 seconds to upload the screen shot below:

That will be the last test on this cruise. I should have pointed out that all of the results were obtained on our balcony surrounded by the steel superstructure of the ship since I never use my iPad or phone anywhere else on board. Indoor results will probably be different.

Wonder what the Over/Under number will be on how many days the internet doesn't work on the World  Cruise?

 

Guess it's kind of free for them anyway, but how will they handle refunds when it's not working if no one really paid extra for it?

Starlink satellites are not stationary, but there may be gaps in the number overhead at any one moment.  Theoretically, a world cruise would be no different than the Caribbean.

 

This is my first experience with Starlink on Serenade.  It's been great.

 

Now if they can just install more WiFi routers.
