Choose from more than 500 itineraries and receive an Onboard Credit of US$100 per stateroom when you book a new cruise with Holland America Line.

https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/us/cruise-deals/community-appreciation-cruise-offers/military-appreciation-offer

or you can go to the Holland America home page, all the way to the bottom, click on Community Appreciation Offers, then click on Military

@richwmn Ah, I cannot get that at all. The link does not work for me, the page is greyed out and the circle keeps going round and round and not giving me the page. Also, I have scrolled all the way down to the bottom and even went to the site map, but there's absolutely nothing anywhere about Community Appreciation Offers, or Military.  I am in the UK, but the HAL website says in the URL that I am on the US web site. Here's a link for the site map which I just checked out. https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/sitemap.html

This is what the bottom of the home page looks like for me:

and here is the offer as shown in my browser actually in the US.

@richwmn  And this is what it looks like for me. If you look at the top left side the URL shows I am on the US website. Strange.

Thanks everyone for all your responses to my questions, I appreciate it.  It looks like we will have to cancel this cruise as my husband suffered a medical incident this morning that will take some testing.  I would rather the doctors take their time to find out what is going on rather than rush things just so we can get the "all clear" for a cruise that is a few months away.

Hope everyone has a wonderful time on their cruise.

Sorry to hear of your husband's condition. Hope it all works out.

I don't know if Military OBC is good outside of US, so you may want to have ahAL confirm you're eligible in the UK.

@Haljo1935 Yes, it is available for UK and Canadian Military Personnel, active or retired. My husband has already been verified with SheerID for HAL and has received an email from HAL to say it was successful and he is now verified.

Great to know that HAL credit applies to our great allies to the north and across the pond!  I do hope they extend same to our great Australian allies as well!

@CNSJ  That would be good. I do not know if  theAustralian Military is included, but if it is not, it definitely should be. You could send them an email to ask, they are pretty quick at replying. Here is their email address:  Hal_Reservations@hollandamerica.com
Best of Luck hopefully they do. 🙂

So my question is once you receive email stating you have the shareholder OBC, can you use it to pay for excursions now.  Cruise  in 2024.  I know Princess,  Carnival,  RCL and Celebrity allow you to do that.  Instead of making you wait until your are on board  like NCL.

Also Veterans OBC. I called to get it applied  to 2024 cruise and was told I had to wait  until 2024 to get it applied.  I have a 1 day cruise next month and have the OBC for that one.

On HAL, you can only use OBC onboard. That's different from the HAL excursion and dining credits, which you can use in advance.

Safe travels  - enjoy your cruise!

So I have CCL stock but this will be the first time using it to get OBC.

So how exactly do I show HAL that I own the stock and how do I get the OBC applied to my next cruise?

Follow these instructions.....

I applied to Princess a month out and they said they use stockperks now to handle obc. Long story short. My son and i in two cabins on Regal P did not get our obc. Stock perks verified we had 100+ shares. But did not tell Princess. U have to join stockperks and email them back and forth until you see obc on your res. TA said it would appear 2nd day of cruise, never happened. Princess cruise was great, stockperks suk

Actually, once stockperks verifies that you do qualify for the OBC it falls on you to hit the "redeem" button to have this applied to your cruise. If you failed to follow this step, that is why Princess did not apply the credit to your account.

I was also very apprehensive of using Stockperks, but it went very smoothly. I “skipped” all the personal info questions and uploaded our brokerage statement with more personal info (other investments, our address) blacked out. 3 days later got the email that it was accepted, went into the app to redeem credit, and it came through the next day.

This is exactly what we did - we didn’t grant them access to our brokerage account, but did send a pdf of the cover page with account number, other stocks, etc blanked out. Worked like a charm - now if only I could use it before we board - lol!

You won't be able to use it before you get onboard, but you can use it for pretty much anything aboard including gratuities, and pretty much anything else except the Casino or a refund.

That said, book shore excursions that are "must do" outside the OBC.
