It will be tough to be too long if they never purchase a cruise ship.  I wonder if they have a crew?

Now I wish luck to people on getting their money back.  It will be hard for the company to fund:

 

- Hotels in Istanbul from 1 Nov to 1 Dec for those who stayed there.

- Onward transportation to Amsterdam and hotels there for those who did that...

- Transportation beck home - if people still have a home.

- Pay for the employees the company did have

- Refunds of deposits for the cruise

- Payments to the lawyers dealing with all this

 

I think the money will run out before that list is completed.  Someone is going to take a big loss, and it will not be the lawyers or employees.  That leaves investors and prospective passengers.  I wonder if trip insurance could cover portions - if not purchased through Miray Cruises?

This will depend on the Terms & Conditions of each policy, specifically the list of exclusions. On most of our policies I recall seeing Bankruptcy or Default as being a listed exclusion, so pax would join the list of unsecured creditors.

 

However, some countries do provide consumer protection with a travel fund, provided the holiday was booked through a licenced agent, and a few other requirements. This is available in UK and also our home Province.
