Very strange, I just got two email messages from CC. - on for this post and one for number 273, asking me to write a review. I've never seen that before. Has anyone else received messages from CC liek that?

Sorry, CTCruiser, I didn't mean to steal your thunder, but the emails had your two posts attached.

Meeeeeeeeeeee too! I very quickly went to my account and changed the setting that had email notifications checked (I've never checked that). I only get emails from Cruise Critic when I'm on the naughty list or get my "live" badge.

The emails have now gone away since I changed the settings.

How strange. 🤔

Maybe CC was doing something in the background and settings for users got messed up? 🤷‍♂️

Figured it out. Somehow I turned email notifications on. Suggestion: if you are following lots of posts, don't turn it on. Hopefully, I turned them off! Oh, years ago, we went with our sons out of NOLA as the older one and his wife were living in Louisiana at the time.

It happened to me also. I started getting email messages about 1/2 hour ago. I just turn it off like you did.

I’m sorry to hear about your lost luggage. I do believe that part.

But a bar with 15 people in line?

If the seats of the bar are full and there is only one slot to order a drink, I can see how 10 or 15 could be lined up. There is a recent Youtube video where the cruise experts said it often too 15-20 minutes to get a drink. They said there was a severe staff shortage. I am on the Breakaway for the transatlantic and am praying for it not to be full.

If you are patient, you'll be fine. We've witnessed some bars that get swamped at certain times. Many don't realize they can just keep walking and get to another bar nearby. Case in point, last night we had dinner in Le Bistro and we were early. We decided to stroll down to the Mixx Bar which is between two MDRs. There were people surrounding the bar trying to order while both MDRs had people lining up for start of dinner time. That bar had only 1 bartender.  The poor guy was hustling. I witnessed a few people peel off and head to the atrium bar which isn't far at all. They were back, with drinks in hand, while the Mixx bartender was still struggling to stay afloat and serve people. It's all about timing and being patient.

Yes, that was very odd. I had noticed the other day that the Cruise Critic site was updating itself and Im guessing thats what caused it,......but glad I was able to change the settings back.

We skipped the soup and salads - I enjoyed the filet..I mean New York Strip...It was a tough piece of meat though. Bringing back the filet would be a good idea!

The DW had the Seafood dish - I sampled everything and it was pretty good.

We are stuffed...Skipping dessert too. The payslip system here is weird - They bill every person's card. Even minors. A family with us had 4 slips, for mom, dad, and two little girls...Dad had to sign each individually - I don't remember this system in the past, so it could be something they are trying to drive gratuity? Who knows?

New to all this.  With Specialty dining do people usually add a tip for the chef and waiter?

Teppanyaki is the only restaurant that offers you the chance to tip the chef and waiter - Specifically because the chef performed for you while making the food.

Other specialty restaurants have a tip line for the server. It's your choice to tip or not.

We had to sign on the Joy last year at Teppanyaki.  I do believe it is to encourage additional tipping.   We dip in cash to the chef directly.

Loving your report. We have a reservation for Teppanyaki on the Jewel next week, what would your advice be as to how much we should tip the chef?

Tipping is a personal thing. Tip however you wish. 🙂

Sitting on our balcony sipping coffee while catching up on emails. Another report card from the pup's boarding place and a quick look on their fb page shows the pup happily hanging out with his buddies. Give them all the treats!
