leishirsute Posted March 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2023 As cruise lines tend to repeat the same itineraries or overlap them with other itineraries, I was wondering are there any cruise lines with similar style of service as Viking i.e. adult only, no casinos, mostly all inclusive? I would like to have alternate itineraries to consider.

Most veteran Viking Ocean cruisers I have met on Oceania ships agree that O’s itineraries (particularly the exotic multi-segment ones) are far more interesting and they add that the food is quite superior. O does have a very small casino and you will see the occasional well behaved kid. But those are hardly reasons not to step up to a far better experience.

Sticking with smaller, all inclusive ships, but maybe with some kids on board, I first recommend Regent and Silversea. Viking is my preferred line but I’ve had excellent experiences on these other lines. Azamara is another great alternative. Oceania is ok but I do not recommend them. My experiences on that line have been a noticeable step down from Viking. In fact, I recommend Virgin or Celebrity over Oceania.

Too late to tell you what we think, but we're looking forward to finding out ourselves! We've heard from many what some here have said about Oceania, especially the food!
lynncarol Posted March 13, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Our 4th cruise with Vantage is coming up. No casinos and the only difference I can tell between Vantage and Viking is that the latter serves free alcohol at both lunch and dinner while Vantage does only at dinner. I have been loyal to Vantage since 2014 on our Black Sea cruise as it was the ONLY cruise line that didn't cancel that itinerary after Russia annexed the Crimea.
jocap Posted March 13, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2023 As already mentioned, Saga cruises are in the more luxurious category, but they are for people aged 50+ years only. If the adult only part is important, along with different itineraries, then P&O have two adult only ships- more of a standard cruise rather than luxury, though, but one has just returned from a long cruise from UK around South America, and the other one is on her world cruise, picking up a segment from Asia today. Not all inclusive, but there's no tipping.
Tom47 Posted March 15, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2023 Azamara has been eliminating casinos during refits. There is no age limit, but no activities for children, The only children that we have seen on 4 Az cruises were crew member children. Az has very small showers for a luxury cruise line.
