Rare joestein514 Posted March 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2023 I am looking at the excursions available on Great Stirrup Cay on my NCL Joy cruise that departs NYC on 8/20. I read about all these different things to do on GSC, like stingray city or spa treatments. I only see various cabanas, zip lines and wave runners. Where are all the other activities? Also - if you book something on the Island, do you still get the $50 excursion credit?

dexddd Posted March 19, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2023 Note GSC does get missed a fair amount due to weather.
Rare www3traveler Posted March 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2023 Your cruise is late August-prime Hurricane Season. The island could be missed on your cruise.
Rare PistolPete13 Posted March 19, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 19, 2023 The amount of activities on the island is somewhat limited since it's not a full fledged port. That said, more activities may show as the criuse gets closer. I do remember doing a Stingray excursion from GSC back in 2019 before Covid. My experience cruising in August is that the seas are usually quite tranquil. Usually a lot of convective activity in the evening making for Mother Nature fireworks. It’s actually really cool. Rare joestein514 Posted March 19, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted March 19, 2023 I booked a 2 person wave runner - I have always wanted to try one. Both of my kids will are thinking about joining. They said they will think about it. I assume I can always do it solo.
