noahrussell87 Posted March 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2023 Hey everyone! I'm cruising on Apex Mar 25 - Apr 1st and have a dinner reservation at Eden on Day 5. I've seen a few Youtube videos of people eating at Eden and doing a special tasting menu. Does anyone know if you can do the tasting menu without the wine pairing? If so, what is the cost? Also another random question: do they charge for ordering an extra appetizer at the main dinner restaurants (Cosmo, Normandy, etc)?
cangelmd Posted March 19, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2023 You do not have to do the wine pairing. If you have a drink package, you can do wines off the package, so the cost is the cost of your Eden reservation. They do not charge for anything extra in the MDRs except the extra lobster.

CharlieCharlieCharlie Posted March 19, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2023 Both menus are the same. The tasting menu gives you smaller portions also you can taste more items. You can order several of each appetizer and main entree as well. They were very accommodating to everyone’s needs. As others mentioned, no wine tasting needed and the price will just be the regular dining cost. The food was excellent.
noahrussell87 Posted March 19, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted March 19, 2023 (edited) Thank you, everyone! I searched the forums for this topic but there was some ambiguity in the comments section. I also have reservations at Raw5 and Fine Cut. Any opinions on those? 🙂 Edited March 19, 2023 by noahrussell87
Tudy Posted March 20, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2023 I enjoyed Fine Cut both times when I was there in February. The service was stellar. The food was stellar. I ate too much.
txtechmk Posted March 20, 2023 #7 Share Posted March 20, 2023 Never have eaten at Raw5, but have eaten at Fine Cut. It was fine, above average. We get plenty of good steaks in Texas.......and Fine Cut was nothing special IMO. And I thought the service was rather slow. We will continue to eat at Eden as it is our favorite.
dacsmom Posted March 21, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 21, 2023 Definitely do the tasting menu, it was outstanding. Took about 2 1/2 hours and I can't say enough about it. I did not have the wine paring.
CharlieCharlieCharlie Posted March 21, 2023 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2023 Both restaurants, Fine Cut and Raw on Five have great food and generous portions. The staff in each restaurant were amazing. Not everything at Raw on five is raw, so everyone will like sly find something they enjoy.
jelayne Posted March 21, 2023 #10 Share Posted March 21, 2023 Fine Cut is our favorite but we don’t order steak, our favorite is the lamb chops.

At first I was put off by the label "crab cake" because I expected some breading/filler. There was none. 🥰 I was also pleasantly surprised by the Lobster Casserole since that label did not seem very elegant. Oh my! Not at all what I had expected from a "casserole"; so glad that I ordered it.

Beth Y Posted March 22, 2023 #14 Share Posted March 22, 2023 The crab cake appetizer and the lobster casserole entree were amazing on the Apex two weeks ago! I wouldn't call it a lobster "casserole" though - it was delicious chunks of lobster over some vegetables and sauce.
Surfguyxxx Posted March 22, 2023 #15 Share Posted March 22, 2023 I like knowing what I'm having already before I even see the menu 🤣😋. Thank you Beth Y for the photos.
Cruise a holic Posted March 22, 2023 #16 Share Posted March 22, 2023 Eden our favorite restaurant. The salad is a show. Can be shared. Also loved the mulligatawny soup. It was the best! We went to Eden twice and I had it both times. Everything was wonderful! Best service IMO of all of the specialty restaurants. Enjoy
