Upgrading after final payment.

I booked through an online travel agent that is probably clueless so I am trying to find out what is possible before I call.

It is after final payment and I am thinking about upgrading cabins.

I am in the US if that matters.

The "Sailing Soon" fare for the cabin I want is attractive.  I realize I will lose any benefits I received with my original booking.

Can I use the "Sailing Soon" fare for the upgrade or do I need to pay the difference between my current fare and the regular fare.

You must do any upgrade on this booking thru your TA.

Be aware of the "new booking only" restriction on those close in Rate Codes.

Call that TA and see what an upgrade will cost you.

Did not look close enough to see if there was a "new booking only" restriction.

Just want to get some advance info before I call the travel agent.

I think from now on I book straight withe cruise line.  I have yet to find a reliable travel agent.

Sorry to hear that you are giving up on booking with a TA.

There are some losers out there .

As a former TA for a large cruise agency for over 17+ years , I would

flip head over heals for a Cunard booking. Generally better commissions and permits discounting of their best rates . Cunard offers extensive product training .

Interview your TA as to experience before booking.

Your odds aren't great here, but give your TA a chance.  You've got nothing to lose.

The alternative is to ask the TA to be quite vociferous with Cunard in saying his/her client is very open to an upgrade, paid for or not.

If it's paid for, the amount is less then the original difference.
