Wow, not what I pictured in my mind.  Can't wait to see photos of your day.

I'm curious what they are going to do. Suva isn't in the 'resort' part of the island. The majority of the island is very rural and poor. The government is paying China to build out a whole highway system.

When we were there we did a private tour to see where native Fijians live and visited a children's school. Then we saw some native performances. I felt it was a worthwhile tour to see where and how Fijians live rather than a fancy resort only meant for tourists.

Housekeeping first, pics from last night at steakhouse and the MDR had "Mexican Night"

Last night was our first internet outage I am aware of. Nothing for hours.

The casino comp'd dinner + $60 in wine....two (overpriced) $30 bottles of an Australian Red to take home

The "Gingeriest" ginger ale in my life

This is interesting. I've never seen this before, ever. I wonder if it's a fleetwide addition?

      Suva Colo-I-Suva Forest and waterfalls

HIKING.....Lots of wet slippery wood and rocks. Not complaining, it's nature.

It was the sketchiest tour/hike we've probably done, but was pretty.

But also hot and humid AF.....

Suva is super poor, but people seem happy and very nice

For y'all used to Caribbean tours, it had a "Jamaica Feeling" if that helps.

Also, when driving around, you get the impression not very safe. Lots of fencing and wire.

We did see    the prison! Ever see Papillon? LOL

Enjoying your comments very much, just to pick up on FIJI it is a very safe place to visit, they are one of the most friendly people who live in  the the South Pacific. You really have to get away to the Northern Islands of  Yasawa to see the real FIJI, we find it much better to get a local  driver and a few other passengers from the ship to really get a feel for a place. Saw a little MotoGP in the Ocean Plaza. There is NO SPORTS BAR. Only place to get lucky and catch any sports is in this large multi-use room.
