The Seattle Cruise Season Has Begun!!! NCL Bliss

Here is a photo of the NCL Bliss, the first ship sailing from Seattle to Alaska in 2023, sailing by my house Saturday evening about 6 PM on 4/15/2023.

Very excited that the cruise season has started.

We heard the horn blasts signaling it was pulling away from the dock at 4:30pm yesterday. Nice to have the ships returning.

Is it just me, or are the cruiselines trying to start Alaska season earlier and earlier?

I think they (NCL at Pier 66) are about 10 days early this year (my hunch, not fact).  The first ship  leaving Pier 91 is the Eurodam April 29th.  I think the Ovation is last to join the party (May 19) and once she is in town, the line-up is complete.  Pretty exciting!

That's going to be a very chilly cruise to Alaska.  I hope the cruise prices reflect the fact that this isn't just shoulder season, this is neck and ears season.

We had a lovely Mexican Riviera cruise in November on the Bliss. Three generations on one trip and I only left the ship in PV, Mazatlan and Cabo long enough for a few tacos, some tequila and a couple of t-shirts.

 

I do think the Bliss is crazy in Alaska though, "hey kids, look at the glacier, look at the whales, is that a polar bear?" - "Sorry nonno, I couldn't hear you over the Grand Prix racer."

Still damned chilly in Seattle, forget about Alaska.

Yippee, that means the season is one step closer for our cruise, its not til Sept, out of vancouver.
