I haven’t done the world wine tour in quite some time.  The last time I did it they had quite a few high end wines.  I tried chateauneuf du pape for the first time.  And after it was over I had to take a nap!  Unlimited good wines and cheese and crackers!  I’m sure it has changed now.  Maybe 2 buck chuck and some saltines 😂.   Kidding,  I’m sure it’s still fun.

I'll nosey around and see what they're offerings are. In the past they were around 2 on a sea day. I may be pleasantly surprised. I remember several years ago they ran out of an Argentina cab and I mentioned to sommelier, he went to a restaurant and grabbed a bottle which my friend and I along with another couple were able to enjoy. Very nice of him to do that.

They usually have one or two nice reds that are not offered with the packages.  Not much of a white wine drinker, but will first taste them all, then head for the reds.  When I find a nice one, I hover around that station until the end, then usually they free pour me the rest of the bottle.

My DW usually gets the whites and I go straight to the reds unless she tells me that I have to taste something.

I do, from time to time, enjoy a glass of champagne or a nice Pino Gris but find most white's too sweet for my liking.

I do white/red.  I prefer to do ALL white first then red but my partner doesn’t always have the patience for that.

The major downside is if you get a bunch of people without a drink package that just want to slam as much wine as they can in an hour...

These are probably the same people who brag about their cement pond.

I also do whites first then red. I remember many years ago on the first WW tour they had a Pouilly-Fuisse apparently was Natalie Woods favorite wine. It sold on the ship for quite a steep price. I enjoyed a couple tastings of it  A couple other of my favorite whites are Sonoma Cutrer chardonnay if you like buttery notes also Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc from NZ.  Wish they had both onboard.

Thanks.  I put the Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay on my buy list.

When I did the tour they didn’t even have drink packages.  It was on the fabulous Celebrity Mercury!

I have $800 obc and solo in my cabin. After paying gratuities I allow myself $100 for the casino as my entertainment money.  Don't buy trinkets and jewelry shops on Apex too expensive plus I have more than I need so I would like to splurge on some nice wine tastings (maybe they will have 2 since its a 15 night TA). Maybe a food and wine pairing since I've never done that and always wanted to try. I'm actually pretty good at pairing dishes but sure I could learn a few tricks.

Try the Riedel tasting.  It’s always fun and you actually learn something about how wines taste different in certain glasses.

I've done the Reidel tasting it was 2012 or 13 and two glasses have broken.  If they offer the glasses.again I definitely will do it as they are expensive here.

I have Riedel glasses.  My favorite glasses are some ordinary stemless from Saudè winery in Virginia that I got maybe 10 years ago.

There seems to be some controversy as to whether those Riedel glasses make a difference.  Wine lovers are desperate to discount any scientific studies showing it’s a fraud.  The emperor has no clothes.

I love the Reidel also and my favorite, however, I saw some beautiful mouth blown red cab cant remember brand but made in Germany. Waiting for store to mark down as they do that when one breaks in the set. 50% off. 😆
