Casino Welcome Letter Joy March 2023

Recommended Posts

Sorry, can't help you with names for that sailing, but really curious why they couldn't/wouldn't issue you said drink and casino card right there at the Casinos At Sea desk within the casino?  That's where they do that work week after week getting ready for the next group of casino passengers.

Also, as you probably know, you really don't need the casino card and only the drink card for water, etc. at the casino bar.

Hope someone else can help you with the names.

Host desk was inefficient/useless.

In my opinion, the staff at the host's desk are, more often than not, rather disinterested and kind of annoyed you are approaching them.  I have to believe that the monotony of dealing with gamblers looking for credits or freebies or whatever -- cruise after cruise after cruise -- makes them super cynical over time.  Plus, they have to drum-up fake excitement for the (dumb) lotto drawing or any one of the (horrible prize) tournaments.

Hence, I try to minimize interaction with them and know, by now, that you don't seek to settle your play for comps or credits to your folio until the very last night, no earlier than mere moments when you are done gambling for the trip, or else, they'll scold you.

We were on 3/18/2023 sailing and never received our welcome letter, casino cards and drink cards. Told the host/s and still never came. Does anyone have the welcome letter from any of the March sailings. Interested in name of manager, shift supervisors, etc. that they can post? Thanks.

Were you cruising on a casino offer?  I've always received my players card and drink card when I checked in at the check-in desk when I checked in.  I never picked them up at the casino.

For me?  Never got these at check-in.  Multiple ships, multiple sailings through CAS: always in the room, in an envelope along with the letter that the OP was missing.

Same here.  I've done 7 CAS bookings, and it's always been in an envelope in my room.  My last cruise was last month

Hmm,  I could have sworn that my player's card was handed to me at check-in last year before boarding the Pearl

.  But, things were a little crazy leading up to the cruise.  So my memory could be off.

I can not imagine the number of folks that play $100 or less expect the casino to give them something. Not gonna happen folks.

Pre-pandemic, a lot of cruises had over 25% of adult passengers sailing on casino offers. NCL CAS comped rooms, CAS discounted rooms, land casino comped, land casino discounted. Every 4th cabin walking down the hall is sailing for free or on a discount.

Last week it was over 12% of total passengers on the Escape.

Where are you able to find and/or get those numbers for sailings?

Agreed but it wouldn't be a big deal if it was missing.  Your room card covers drinks and play tracking.  I don't like using it for play because I'll probably leave it somewhere, but it can be done. 🙂

yeah, the players card being missing wouldn't be a big deal at all.  But I don't think your room card would cover the drinks.  It's not coded for that.  You would need your casino drink card.  Well, either the room card is not coded for it, or the servers/bartenders just don't know how to check for it.

Every time I've asked for a drink I've been asked for my room card.  Admittedly, that may be because I'm "Pearl" so not elite enough for the top shelf stuff.  But I usually get P+ or FAS+ anyway so no biggie.

yeah, be careful with that.  As long as you have the free at sea drink package, and what you're ordering is covered by the FAS drink package, you're good.  Otherwise, they will end up charging your room account.  I had to make several trips down to guest services to have drinks removed because the server kept charging me.  And I was pointing out to them that they should use my casino drink card

The Bird collects all kinds of metrics for the most frequently asked questions on CC. This is one of them, in addition to passenger counts, numbers of ambassador guests, and the cruise director’s name.

As a practical, operational matter, they should integrate your casino drink card and CAS status on your room card.  One card.  Easy-peasy with some proper systems coding.  Why not?*

I'm sure you have all witnessed the casino player's club staff hand-writing all of those CAS drink cards for the next group of players.  What an inefficient way to do business!

If they really want something tangible for CAS guests upon first entering their room, give us a complimentary (used) deck of cards with a nice welcome message.  The drink card and players card, for me, end up sitting in the room for the duration of the cruise - I don't use them...nope, not even for water at the casino bar.

------------

*Putting your CAS status on your room card may be kind of interesting if you happen to be Sapphire Latitudes status, but not yet Sapphire CAS status...or could be extra cool if you were double Sapphire!
