They announced on Jupiter that the ABBA Songbook is about to be removed from the Viking entertainment program.  No word on what new is coming up.  Will post if they make a similar announcement on The Beatles show.

On Viking Sky in December it was the vocal group’s first week with Viking and their nights were Beatles medley and American classics through the ages.

I don’t recall an Abba night.

Thank God!
Was Abba really worth 50 years of drunken praise - “I love that song! One more drink please.”

On the Sea now. It’s Abba and Beatles Songbook.

There has to be a better way! 🕺🎸

We'll be boarding Jupiter on 2nd July.  I'd be very glad not to have the Abba show again, but I'm guessing they'll 'retire' it after our cruise, which is almost entirely in Scandinavia!  Homelands = Abba.

Neither did ABBA & it didn’t stop Viking 😂

Since Viking has to pay royalties to play these songs, it would not surprise me to learn that the groups that no longer exist are cheaper shows to mount.

Ok, how about the Eminem songbook?

Too recent. Maybe some nice Johnny Rotten & the Sex Pistols. Their rousing version of “God Save the Queen” in honor of the upcoming coronation, perhaps? 👑

Sadly, it’ll probably be something like Billy Joel and Neil Diamond instead.

I saw a guy do a Neil Diamond show last year on a Viking ship. He was very good.

I’ll take Queen if Viking can resurrect Freddie Mercury.

Actually on our last cruise the singers did a version of Bohemian Rhapsody - we were very sceptical, however they made quite a good job of it, although granted it was never going to give goose bumps like Freddie!!

Why does a show have to be devoted to one group exclusively? Couldn't they do a whole decade at a time? They could then update a given show over time by adding and removing individual songs while not having to revamp the entire program. At least it would keep things a bit fresher as time goes by.
