Port in IJmuiden Amsterdam

I got excited when reading this statement, but then I realized it applies only when the ship docks at IJmuiden.  If only they offered that transfer when it doesn’t!  (I checked. lol)

I'm not sure why you would want to do that if there isn't a ship docked there.

Ah.  I neglected the context.  We are arriving at IJmuiden via DFDS and have to make our way to Amsterdam from there.  Looks like we’ll be taking a taxi to Haarlem station then the train to Amsterdam Centraal.

Thanks for the info Roy. A Taxi from Amsterdam might be the way! Hate carrying bags up and down stairs, which the hotel neglected to tell me about!

Likely we'll be arriving 1-2 days ahead of the cruise...but by the looks of the logistics of stairs etc we may just take a taxi. Pity there isn't a train connection.

get a quote from staxi.nl we had good experience with them and cheaper than regular taxi
