A great Italian place for lunch recommend in Soho:

If it is not too late, here is another good italian option.

If you have ever seen Lydia on PBS, this is her NYC restaurant.

Been there a few times, and her place in Pittsburgh several times,

(which is now closed...).

There are stair and elevator options to the pedestal. The signs for stairs say 175 + 26 but a guy working there told me 215. Then another 180 to the crown.

If you do the elevator you have to wait in line. They only take 4 at a time in one elevator. Then you have to take the last 26 steps because it doesn’t go all the way to the pedestal.

In 1935 my mom went to nursing school at St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC. She and some classmates toured the statue when visitors were allowed to take the stairs up the right arm and walk outside around the base of the torch. Mom said only about 6-8 people could fit out there and it was scary.

@Saint Greg thanks for sharing these amazing photos. Visitors were not allowed (due to construction) to go near Lady Liberty when we went several years ago, so your pictures kinda help complete that trip. 🥳

With your blessing, will be using these to help plan our upcoming Sept trip - you'll be our tour guide in abstentia!

Greg, you know we like to break each other's balls, but I'm being totally serious right now... You've really gone above and beyond this time. All the careful planning it must've took...

Learning to speak Spanish to some critical acclaim...

Traversing Continents and time itself...

My hat is off to you, dude.

But... Jerry Seinfeld throwing out the first pitch? How in the heck did you work that into the plan?... You may really be Batman...
