What do muster drills look like these days?

It looks like Princess is doing DIY muster drills... watch a video, check-in at your muster station. Is this also the case on HAL?

Not that it really matters, I'm just curious 😊

On last weeks Zaandam cruise muster was watch the video and check in at muster station.  Very quick and easy.

That's definitely an improvement over the old system. Thanks for your reply.

On the larger ships you do not go to the muster station.  You watch the video and go to a preassigned room on the ship and just get scanned and leave.  Easier than the Zaandam!

If it's not already on, turn your TV on when you first enter your cabin - the mandatory safety video will begin playing

The TV will not change to other channels until the safety video plays.

On my last 2 cruises I’ve waited several hours for the video to show.  I’ve done a lot of cruises so it’s not confusion on my part.  It eventually did show.

Muster drills today look like they are of no value whatsoever training the crew to respond in an actual emergency, when all passengers must operate as a whole, together, in a very short period of time.

If by 'the larger ships' you mean the Pinnacle Class, then the pre-assigned room IS your muster station. In case of emergency, that is the place you would report to.
