If your cruise has to miss a port stop because of bad weather, are you refunded that amount on your tab? :rolleyes:

I have never known the cruiseline to refund a port charge for a weather related missed port...the disclaimers are in the cruise documentation. Now maybe if ALL ports were missed, then maybe so...

I have always received a refund of the port charges. They put a credit on my sail card.

We missed Grand Cayman last year because Horizon was fogged in at Tampa and could not leave until the next day. There was no refund of any port charges.

I have never heard of a refund, for missing a port, but then again we have never missed a port.

Some cruise lines do, some don't. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity do not.

The official reply that I received from Celeb:

 

"We have not shown separate port charges for about 5 years now"

 

(hence no refund for missed ones)

they will usually have a happy hour or something similiar with free drinks to make up for a missed port. Really depends on the ship.

We missed Costa maya last week on the Galaxy and they gave nothing for it. I heard someone say you could contact Celebrity and ask after the cruise. I don't really expect anything, but did ask if a refund was possible on the back of my comment survey just to see if I get any kind of a response form it.

On a recent Princess cruise we missed Princess Cays and some passengers received a refund on their on-board charge. We didn't, so I wrote and received a nonsense letter in return.

 

I 'phoned and told them not to waste everyone's time, but to do something positive because I will persevere. They refused to put me through to anyone in authority, but after consulting with "someone" agreed to refund $30 as it was a "Government Tax"!!!

 

Not received it yet!!!
