Turnover time from Carnival Cruiseport to Brisbane airport

Greetings from Arkansas!  If ship docks at 8am, what is the earliest flight I should book to Melbourne?  Are there taxis waiting at dock?  I have had trouble hooking up with Uber in Portugal recently.  Thanks for any advice.

Yes there are taxis but sometimes the line is quite long. I'd want to be at the airport an hour before (40 min is the minimum). . 

I'd book after 10am.  Maybe 11am will be less stressful. Still get there by lunch.

When returning to Melbourne from a cruise, we always schedule our flight for early afternoon in case of delays.

Might be easier to book a transfer through the cruise line if you can - no problems with taxis.

There has been often long waits for taxi .  Taxi and uber don't like going to BICT because usually only a one way fare for them . Ship transfers are over priced .

On some cruises when we have disembarked at the (new) Brisbane terminal there have been taxis waiting and on other occasions, we have had to line up for quite a long time.
