Lunch and some pool time. Moved to the bar to get out of the sun. Just as we sat down, they came by with ice cream. Sea day and plenty of loungers and tables for dining.

We’re feeling some motion. Not horrible though.

I had filled out the special request form about distilled water. Email back from MSC said we’d have to provide our own, but there was a gallon in our room on boarding day.

Sorry I may have missed it, Jules--was this for a CPAP machine?

We’re in Ocho Rios today. Sweltering heat, no breeze. We did our usual walk around the pier shops and were back on board in under an hour.

spent the afternoon at the pool deck, mostly in the pool. Had some lunch at the one pool buffet. My husband had a massive breaded  veal chop and he said it was great. Around 2:00 they came by again with ice cream. We’re already back in our room. Just too hot to be out there any longer. I don’t know how these crew members do it.

We found the weather to be the exact same last month. Absolutely no, to little breeze, to the point even a toweled and shaded pergola was no respite from the sweltering Caribbean sun. The most fortunate YCers were the ones paying for inside cabins, as we did not use our grand balcony even once the whole week.

Currently in YC dining room. I ordered the filet as my main, and the Chinese dumplings as a starter. My husband couldn’t decide between the duck or lamb. Went with the duck. Arthur stopped by our table to check in with us. My husband was explaining how he had a hard time deciding. Arthur disappeared and returned a few minutes later with Beef Wellington for him.

Service has been over the top AMAZING.

Forgot to mention that beef Wellington wasn’t on the menu tonight. Did it come from the steakhouse?

I asked Arthur if they could do a beef wellington on the first night. They made extra yesterday. It was delicious!! He said they did six of them. We took three.

Good morning from the Top Sail. Day 1 of week 2. We’re waiting for an escort off and thru immigration then right back on. Had a great first week. I’ll comment more on that later.

Yacht Club will not be sailing full this week. I forget the exact number of guests we were told, but do know that they’ll be some top brass from MSC corporate joining us here in the YC.

We have new cards and wristbands for this week. Beautiful morning. Can’t wait to go to the pool.

Very interesting that the Yacht Club is not sailing full..... I bet it is because of the "top brass from MSC corporate joining". Less of a chance of interlopers accessing the YC, too. Wonder if you might have the Seafood Extravaganza make a comeback this week ? I wonder also if the "top brass" will ask to see the staff "access" list to see how many friends and family of officers are given access to the YC while staying in cabins outside the YC. Willing to wager that list is nowhere near the 44 we had on our cruise. There is also less of a chance that the move up bids were accepted. You are in a great position to compare one week from this one. Not a good week for a YCer giving their YC wrist bands to friends and family in cabins outside the YC to gain access to the YC venues.

I'd think rather than Yacht Club operations themselves, the YC is simply a base of operations for said top brass while they observe and take in the mainline operations on the rest of the ship. Having an "average" score of 2.5 on the CruiseCritic review, for instance, I'm sure is something they're going to want to see trend upwards moving forward, especially if there's any insights to be gleaned before bringing World America and others online

@jules815 If you happen to walk by the future cruse desk (and are willing to do so) would you take a picture of the current promotional flyer(?). I'm wondering what the OBC is for booking a YC Deluxe Suite while onboard.

Just booked while onboard. We were told $200 per cabin for the YC booking and $50pp for the loyalty bonus (though not future cruise specific).

Sounds like it hasn't changed since we booked onboard in June...
