lynnek Posted September 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2023 Just wondering if anyone has cruised from Hawaii to Vancouver in May and can tell me what the weather/ temperatures may be like please as it’s a long time at sea! lola2013 Posted September 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2023 (edited) We began in Honolulu on 4/26 so were sailing into early May. The temps were great…warm and sunny. We did spend some time in the Solarium one day midway across when it was windy. We booked side by side SVs so we could enjoy beautiful sunsets as we sailed east to Vancouver. Mark_K Posted September 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2023 Not quite, but I have done Vancouver to Hawaii in late April. Most of the sea days were not that great, but it got a lot better the last day and a half before Hilo. I would expect you would get that, but in reverse.
mrmj59 Posted September 12, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 12, 2023 It was good. Weather can be unpredicatable and we did have slightly cooler days as we went north. It was nice to have a solarium pool. Although the week before we arrived in Vancouver, it was 80+ but we had 70+ weather.
sanger727 Posted September 12, 2023 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2023 We did that itinerary in late April. Hawaii was wonderful. The first 1-2 sea days were really nice. After that, it got pretty cold and windy outside.

kokopelli-az Posted September 13, 2023 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2023 We did this itinerary on the Eclipse April 29-May 9, 2019. Weather was great. The water got a little choppy the last 2 days (going toward Vancouver).
rj59 Posted September 19, 2023 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2023 I did the reverse on HAL several years ago in early October, and we hit an unexpected storm, on a HAL ship, with waves crashing over my deck 7 balcony. It's the only time I've ever had to crawl to the bathroom in order to not fall over, and all night it was up and down, like the most sickening carnival ride ever. The problem is once you head north towards Vancouver--I do coastal trips at least twice a year, and you can get decent weather, but you can also get gales so strong that they close off all outer deck access. It's just like a Translantic, you can't predict based on previous experience.
gordylad Posted September 20, 2023 #9 Share Posted September 20, 2023 the weather was the factor in making us decide to do the 5hr flight.......
