Cost of Marriage Vow Renewal Sapphire Princess

We have booked a cruise to Alaska in 2024 - our 35th wedding anniversary. I want to surprise my wife with a renewal of vows on the ship, but when I contacted Princess they said the cost would be $3995 to renew our vows and have family present. They include a photographer and light refreshments. I keep asking the "planner" to verify this price as all we want to do is renew our vows. I'm seeing charges from $0 to $250 on other forums. Can someone tell me if they've renewed their vows on Princess, and what the cost was?

I found this - I think they changed the company and upped the price recently. I think the below is for the couple only (not guests attending).

 

Package Price: $1,595 symbolic, vow renewal only

 

Package Highlights:

• For Couple only
• Ceremony time 11am
• Short and Sweet Ceremony performed by Captain, indoor or outdoors
• Extras from the Captain include:
• Couple will receive a personal welcome and thank you note from the Captain
• Captain will take a photo at the ceremony with the couple
• Captain will invite the couple to the Bridge for a tour and photo
• Pre-recorded ceremony music
• 2 Fresh florals (small bouquets or boutonnieres)
• 1-Tier Celebration cake immediately following ceremony
• Sparkling Wine Toast immediately following ceremony
• Photographer service for ceremony and ship walk around up to 2 hours
• Two (2) 5 x 7 Memorable prints
• Stateroom Décor (rose petals and towel animal)
• Pre-cruise and onboard wedding coordinator

Firstly, congratulations on the milestone anniversary!  It’s so sweet of you to plan this. 
 

But yikes, the price of the renewal is steep! I’d almost rather put that towards another cruise.

We renewed on cruise last year and it was about $267 we didnt have guests or food. Bouquet and pictures takeb, one free.

Who did you contact to arrange it at that price? The $1000+ is ridiculous - I'd put that to another cruise before I'd spend it on a 15 minute ceremony!

I really think they switched companies and the prices skyrocketed. I remember a PR about this this past year or so.

We are celebrating our 61st wedding anniversary. Yes, I did say 61st on the Enchanted Princess on a 21 day  cruise in the Mediterranean.

Like others have said, the price is outrageous. 

We are taking a 6 day RCI Cruise Central Park Balcony for 2 at that price. That is the truth

OK, I'll have to look at other options. I got another reply from Princess saying "as a good will gesture, they'd do it for $2995". I'll find another option to renew our vows in one of the ports. Thanks everyone for your input! Also, congratulations Oxo on an incredible 61 years together!!

I figure that this package is worth maybe $100.  For $1600 I can take my bride to a really nice hotel somewhere pretty and take her to a really expensive dinner.  Anyone who goes for this package is being taken.

Agree 100% My wife would be impressed that I'm looking to renew our vows, but would NOT be happy that I've spent $1000+ for a simple ceremony! People are nuts if they pay that, or really, really loaded with excess funds!

I think it is probably worth $200-$300. I can't believe how much they are now charging. I am disappointed in Princess on this.

So it wasn't a year ago but I do remember they released new packages and they seemed very $$$. Very unreasonable. Thanks for finding it.
