Well, I am very upset this morning. Someone stole my cute little sign I had hung up outside our cabin. 😡 It was something I put there to help my mom find our cabin. Who steals a sign?

For crying out loud 😡 That’s pretty low, IMO.

Once again we are docked out in the sticks in a commercial area. We were supposed to dock at Stadsgarden cruise terminal which is now 2 km from us.

Ugh.  that’s a shame 😔

Very sorry about the missing signs.

@RadbooksCould I bring you something to replace it?  I’ll see you on board on the 7th!

@VMax1700Thank you for the sports update.  I am very interested in the baseball playoffs since the Baltimore Orioles are the AL East champions and will be in the playoffs for the first time in 7 years.  Go Os!

Thank you for all the wonderful information provided by this thread.

Oh, thanks for thinking of us. We figured out a way to mark it. I think she's pretty good now at finding it.

See you soon 😊

When we have a cabin in the middle of a long hallway, we have used a small blow up balloon and taped it to the very top of the door frame. That way it doesn’t interfere with anything but it’s easy to spot when you’re trying to figure out where you need to go.

My sense of direction is wonky and I have to look at the signs in the hallway to see if I am port or starboard (or odd or even😂)

we’ve waited a long time for our birds to be playing this late!  Hopefully their Cinderella streak continues and we are back home before they are done for the year

Ohhhhh, please do share the food porn from Tamarind and Pinnacle.  So enjoying your posts and pics!  Only 363 more days to go for our cruise!!  We live in a very rural area and cook mostly every day.  We are so looking forward to our meals (and everything else) on the Rotterdam.

Have you played trivia or done any games? We really liked Tomas who ran those things on our cruise.

Tomas left the ship in Helsinki. He has been promoted to do training of other Entertainment Hosts, and then will be doing the World Cruise.

He is now with us on Nieuw Statendam for I believe five weeks, then is able to take a little vacation time.

0106 and Ready2go11 - Many years ago, my coworkers said to pick a team that would win the World Series that year. You had to do this before July 4. I picked Baltimore even though they were not doing well at the time. Baltimore won the World Series that year and I got $500! 😊

@VMax1700  Enjoying your postings of cruise.

Question:  Is HAL providing KN95 masks or similar for those passengers wanting them?

I'm about 10 days from cruising & starting to pack.

Would love not to have to bring more items in luggage!

I have no idea if they can supply them on request as they have not put any in the staterooms and I have not seen that many wearing masks.

We have been wearing masks in buses etc for tours or shuttles.  I have noticed that coughing has increased over the last few days and on the shuttle bus today there were several coughing without making any attempt to cover their mouths.  How quickly we forget.

So, to answer your question, I would suggest you bring them or perhaps plan to purchase them prior to embarkation.  We wore them on the flight over, even though it was only 90 minutes.

To continue on the masking, coughing theme.......the room next to ours had a deep clean today, with masked attendants and plastic bags full of sheets, towels etc!  Our steward told us that one of the occupants had vomited and as a safety precaution they sanitised the room.  He said it was from drink and the rough sea last night. mmmmm?

I so agree with this - my KN95 masks take little room and easy to add into the fullest bag.

I also pack covid19 tests.  I test after I fly for several days.  (Old habit from when DD DH was in the hospital and I want to keep my roll call friends and other passengers safe.

We were docked today down by the Viking Terminal which is about 2.5km from Gamla Stan.   The shuttle bus ($16.95 charged to the stateroom) dropped us across the river from Gamla Stan and collected us again from the same spot. (well, to be pedantic, from the other side of the street!)

At the quayside there were the usual tour buses and also the Ho-Ho bus was there (book onboard or at bus).  Also just outside the port gates were a few taxis.  It was a short walk to the port gates.

Some were walking into the centre.  Google said 2.5km (1.5 mls).  Although there was a road along the river side, it seems it was closed for works at the moment.

The cobbles in Gamla Stan made it hard work to walk there.  Even the pavements were cobbles.
