Onlyoneash Posted October 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2023 We have to arrange special transportation for my disabled child and Carnival guest services said that as a result, to just disregard my arrival boarding time and find the “embarkation supervisor” asap when we arrive at port (we should arrive at 11:30 am, so not too early or late). On the phone, they weren’t sure exactly where to find this person at the Long Beach port and told me to just “ask around”? Anyone have a more direct location so we are not wandering around? Would they be able to ignore their arrival time if they have to ask for the embarkation manager inside the terminal? I wonder if they'll be standing outside. Hi @Onlyoneash🙂 The best advice I can offer is this: Agents at port terminals all have work phones & or walkie-talkie's with them. Since the Embarkation Supervisor will most likely be floating all over & most likely not in their office, after you enter the terminal, simply have the nearest agent reach out to the Supervisor at that time, and have them come to you, instead of you searching for them. Because of the disabilty transportation we have to arrange from the airport, we have no choice but to arrive at 11:30 am. But our “assigned” arrival time is not until 1 pm. That is why I assume guest services told us to get embarkation supervisor? We have everything properly noted in our account, but I’m worried about wandering around the port with a handicapped child trying to find this supervisor if I’m not allowed inside until my assigned time. If my memory serves me right, there's normally about 3 or 4 workers at the terminal entrance spread between a few "rope lanes" marked with different arrival times and one for platinum/diamond/FTTF/Suits, etc. (That's could be a bit different). Id go to the platinum diamond line and tell who ever approaches you," hey I'm early but was told to be here early and to ask for the supervisor for the transportation issue", and I'm willing to bet, they'll radio the supervisor right then and there. As people here have suggested, I went to the first person I saw at the entrance and gave them my name and said that special needs told me to ask for a supervisor. Worked like a charm! The supervisor came to meet us, whisked us through the whole process and escorted us all the way to guest services on the ship. (We needed an alternate to the alternate muster drill.) Having travelled a lot with a special needs child, Carnival rivals Disney in how they assist with special needs. No one else has come close.
