Have it all pckage

Having booked the "Have it All" package, I started looking at possible excursions. My wife is mainly wheel chair bound and none of the excursions are listed for this type of person. Does this mean that we just loose out? 

If so, what would happen if we booked an excursion and gave the tickets to some one else?

The excursions are tied to your Navigator app or you can check-in at the meeting point with your cabin key card. No more paper excursion tickets. There may be excursions that can accommodate folding up a wheelchair if your wife can manage a couple of steps. Sometimes the HO-HO buses can accommodate wheelchairs. Give HAL special services a call.

How do you know where your meeting point is if you don't have a smart phone, and there are no more paper excursion  tickets.?

Definitely talk to HAL’s Accessibility Department right away. Much depends on your itinerary. A cruise to Alaska, for example, provides a great deal more options for travelers who use wheelchairs than a cruise to many other locations.

Yes Alaska was good this past May 2023. We had wheelchair accessible tours (or on our own) in Victoria (Butchart Gardens & Butterfly Garden), Sitka (Raptor & Cultural Center), Skagway (Whitehorse Pass & Yukon Railway), Juneau (Whale watching boat tour & Mendenhall Glacier park).

You can check in with the shore excursions desk and they will give you the time/place. All you need is your key card which the excursion folks scan, same as the app.

Thank you all for your replies. We are on the Dec 3  Panama Canal Cruise. I really didn't expect to be able to give the excursions away, but it didn't heart to ask.

Also thank you POA1, I missed that ability to filter, but when I went through the listings, non showed up even for partial mobility (which she has). I guess that as with our last 5 cruises or so, we will just enjoy the ship, the food and the warm weather.

Finally, I had to chuckle at Caribbean Chris's reply. Not that I don't appreciate it but rather that about 3:45 this afternoon I received an e-mail from HAL that pointed to that exact page.

I'm not sure when your cruise will occur but keep checking back for more mobility limited excursions.  Another possibility would be that you and your wife could sign up for an excursion but stay on the bus for the part of the trip that requires a lot of walking or step.  Check with the shore excursions reps for ideas.  I might not suggest purchasing an excursion under these circumstances but if you are using dedicated money that can't be used for anything else, this still might be a good use of your time to see areas of the port.

Thanks Chopperteste, however I am getting more and more suspicious of the wording of HAL's excursions as the time goes on. I look at the excursion you show and it looks good. HOWEVER, the only reference  it makes for people in a wheelchair is that the tram is assessable. There is absolutely nothing said about the walk.

A week or so ago, in response to my enquiry about partially disabled person's excursions, I received a whole long list of ones in a Word Doc.. They included a jump on, jump off tram, a swim with the dolphins, a tour of an old fort and dungeon and ones on their private island. The last made me chuckle even more when the cruises itinerary recommends that people with walking impairments not even get off of the ship due to it only being a tender stop.

I replied to their word doc with specific questions about each of the excursions for the first half of the cruise, but gave up when they referenced the ones for the day at the Panama Canal because for a while now they have all been canceled.

Next I sent off a note to their disability department who replied they they were forwarding it to their excursions department.

This afternoon I received a call from one of their reps asking me about what my concerns were and yes she had seen my reply to to their Word Doc. When I stated the examples above, her only response was that the private operators assure HAL that they are accessible and that they have had no complaints. When I asked if that was the case, why were no excursions at all on our cruise itinerary listed a suitable for even partially impaired people. She had no answer.

Finally, when she again assured me that they were suitable, I asked if she would send me an email confirming that a chosen excursion would be completely accessible for a wheel chair, she replied that she would have to speak to her supervisor.
