The walk is probably about 1/3 mile to the downtown area (maybe just a little more).

The taxi stand is also located right at the end of the pier.

And you can always just have a stop at the 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar (which is right on the way) for nice views of the ship and casual eats and drinks for a relatively short walk.

Keep walking through the RIF fort area. There are shops and restaurants in this area also.

As you exit this area you will follow the sidewalk to the Queen Emma floating pontoon bridge.

Cross here to get to the main downtown area.

If you turn right and head toward the waterfront, you will find several restaurants that are part of the Waterfront Arches.

We’ve eaten here twice and love the view. But today we didn’t really time it right. It was too early when we arrived. If you’d like to have lunch here, aim for around 12:00-12:30 pm.

I enjoy the street art in Curaçao. There are several murals along the route back to the bridge.

We headed back in the direction of the ship. It wasn’t exactly hot today, but the humidity was terrible.

We stopped on our way back since those frozen drinks and ocean breezes were calling to us.

Yummy drinks with a view of the ship. This is one of my favorite parts of cruising.

Mark tried the fish sandwich.

And I had the club wrap.

Both were quite good, but the club wrap was slightly better.

After a short walk around the Renaissance (RIF Fort) area, we headed back to the ship to relax.

We headed up to Skywalkers Lounge to read, relax, and cool down quickly with a great view of the port area.

I had the Tuscan-style Striploin.

IMG_2638.thumb.jpeg.0072de4ec77ea4f6977ff9cf4843dbcc.jpeg

And Mark had the Veal Scaloppini.

IMG_2636.thumb.jpeg.750373fa2cf658d929fc1fd7273af62b.jpeg

Edgar brought the shrimp and scallop dish. The scallops in Crown Grill were great, but the ones in the dining room seem undercooked and a little rubbery.

Dessert!

IMG_2639.thumb.jpeg.99d7576ea2e674446de6084be4f5838b.jpeg

Mark could not ignore the lemon cheesecake. He enjoyed this.

IMG_2640.thumb.jpeg.a9e3bfb59701b2ae77ede9f1e503571a.jpeg

I tentatively ordered the Tiramisu. They tried to get fancy with my Tiramisu on Celebrity and it was some kind of  “deconstructed” weirdness.

This one was much more traditional and was better.

Stopped in the Wheelhouse Bar to listen to the house band play some soft jazz.

Bailey’s Raspberry (Mark just discovered these this cruise and really likes them as an after-dinner drink) and a Gin Daisy.

Willemstad has always ranked #1 in cleanliness of all the port towns we've visited.  Looks like it still.  Don't remember 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar, but the menu looks good to give it a try on the way back to the ship. Our Circle Caribbean on Majestic isn't until 2025.  It has enough new stops for us that your pics and comments were a great help.  Gracias.

It is definitely warm again today. The “feels like” temperature is supposed to reach 94F/35C.

We are going to head out around lunchtime or a little before. We like to eat at a little place near the Renaissance Marina with views of the water and the ship.

Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar & Grill is casual and friendly. And it’s one of the closest restaurants to the pier with a water view.

That's where we ate.  Really good fish tacos.

We went to the Passions beach bar on Eagle Beach, and had a great morning. Loungers and palapas were $15 pp, and the beer buckets were cold. The water and sand were amazing.

It was easy to take the public bus to the beach at $2.50 pp.

On the way home, a local bus/van stopped at the bus stop where we were waiting, and charged us just two bucks each for a drive right to the port gate.

Passion fruit margaritas, nachos, and chicken quesadillas made for a casual lunch.

We were even greeted quite warmly by the local Aruban ambassadors who seemed polite, but very interested in cleaning up all of our crumbs. All-in-all, an enjoyable lunch and a beautiful day.
