Help: Chefs Table vs 360 - Planning Discovery Princess Trip

Planning our February 2024 Mexican Riviera cruise and thinking about something special for dinner. I would love to hear your thoughts on the differences and your opinions of both Chefs Table and 360. 
 

Cost?

Duration?

Types of Food?

What is included? What isn’t included?

I will never get the chance to do 360 since I don't plan (99% no) to be on a Royal Class ship.  Saying that....

 

I thought 360 was by invitation to suite passengers.  Did hear/read that 360 was being offered to a few mini-suite passengers for $140 ????

 

I have only witnessed the parade of staff and plates during a Chef's Table.  Just happened to be in the Crown Grill when the Chef's Table was being offered.  Also was told that there are multiple seatings for this glorious event during the voyage.  Everything is included in both dinners (liquor paired with dishes).  

 

You would need to contact the DINE line in order to place your name in a lottery for the Chef's Table.  I don't think you can invite yourself to 360.

If you can do the 360 experience, I would do it.   It was the best experience we had on any ship.  Being immersed in a specific area, with videos of the area as they present the food, was something we have not had before.   We would definitely doe the 360 experience again!

Can’t speak to the Chef’s Table, but I can tell you that the 360 experience was wonderful. The service, “show,” and quality of food was excellent. The service in particular was personal and exceptional. That being said, the type of food served may not be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s not the typical steak and potatoes. You are contacted in advance to see if you have any dietary restrictions, which does help tailor the menu somewhat to your taste. There are alcoholic drinks served before and after dinner. The wine was good, but we did not care for the pre-dinner drinks. I don’t remember exactly how long the experience was, maybe 90 minutes. If you are in a full suite there is no charge, but I have seen mentioned on this forum that Princess now offers attendance to everyone for a $149/pp charge.

My wife and I have joined the Chef's Table on multiple occasions.  We don't do it any longer as

we frankly don't have a big enough appetite for all of the courses that are served.  On the Royal and Regent, there is a dedicated area in the center of the dining room with crystal curtains and Murano glass chandeliers.  It is normally limited to five couples, and in the past, you met a day earlier to sign a waver (for food allergies and health questions) and receive information.  Un dinner night, you are given a chef's coat and proceed to the galley for a private tour (which includes mandatory hand washing just like the servers) and a cocktail party which included the Captain and Head Maitre'd.  There, you are served delicious hors d'oeuvre and french champagne. On several occasions, there were intricate ice carvings to view.  After this, we ditched the chef's coats and were escorted to the dining table.  Usually, there are 5-7 courses that included risottos and choice or all of the meats that might include prime steak, lobster, lamb chops, or fish.  My first encounter included a mid meal palette cleanser which was an oversize gold sugar rimmed martini glass with sorbet.  The waiter then inquired if I wanted a little grey goose vodka, or a little more, or a little more to top off the sorbet.  He was very generous. Since the ship did not cook with open flame in the galley, the head chef flamed our steaks right by the table, and desserts were wonderful and unlimited.  In addition, each lady was presented a long stem red rose and the coffee table version of the Princess cook book. The evening took almost three hours and photographs were included, too.  You usually have to book it immediately after boarding as space is limited depending on how many times it's available.  Bon Apetit!

The 360 dinner was amazing but a one time deal for us   Used to do the Chefs table but no morrr it is just too much food. Glutton city. If you have a choice I would take 360

I’ve done both,  and loved both.  If I had to pick one it would be 360 due to the story and technology.  It’s amazing!
