Venezia - deck 3 gray area in middle - what is it?

This area seems to be between the two dining rooms. What is it? Some people mention the galley but I don't know how they know specifically where that is.

 

Can you walk from the one dining room to the other?

Galley! You have to go up or down a level to cross.

its the galley for both dinning rooms, mid ship and aft. you can not walk thru. you need to go up to another deck and back down. This is common on lots of other ships

 

if you do the behind the scenes tour, you can go to galley

The Spirit class does galleys the best imho. Down on deck 1 in  the back, keeping a very nice ship traffic flow.

I agree, but that's really because there is only the one dining room.

Just off the Carnival Venezia and the restaurant layout is less than ideal. We had Anytime Dining so either Deck 3 or Deck 4 Aft. The Aft elevators and stairways need to be used. But we would wait on our deck by the Aft elevators for our table assignment to be posted as it could be either Deck 3 or Deck 4. That saved choosing the wrong deck and having to go up or down when assigned.

we were on Venezia last month, 12 nt cruise.   every single dining reservation was deck 3, we had "your time" dining.  

 

kept waiting to hit deck 4 but never happened.

We had dinner twice on Deck 4 on our 11 night cruise last week and the rest on Deck 3. IMHO Deck 3 is nicer.
