Some do. Generally, even if they do, the exchange rate will not be favorable. Use your credit card or local currency is what I do. (but I admit having used USD when in Mexico and Nicaragua when a credit card wasn't accepted). Are you wondering about a specific port? There is more to the world than the Caribbean countries. Actually, at one of the ports we were in last summer, Amsterdam, there were places that did not even accept Euros !
