Good luck - I haven't heard of anyone being successful - maybe you will be the first - This is their common tactic - buy all the capacity or add a "waffle," as @sandiego1 noted.

Luckily a few people have responded who have been successful under the same circumstances.
But now their dilemma - is it cheaper to refund me the price difference in OBC, or to buy EVERYONE a previously unmentioned waffle?🤔

OK - so I got HAL’s decision late yesterday:

 

“We do appreciate your loyalty. As a one time gesture of goodwill, the manager of Ship & Shore experiences has approved  Onboard credit for each of you, based on the 110% Best Price guarantee.

However, you will be receiving a “Denied: Competitor tour has no availability on port date.” E mail from our Best Price Guarantee Platform. Please disregard that E mail. The onboard credit has been manually added to your shipboard account.”
 

So we were officially denied, but unofficially approved.

 

Bottom line, although we did get the OBC, the Best Price Guarantee is all smoke and mirrors. It only applies if you can find the same operator with availability after HAL has blocked out that days entire capacity, even if no $100 waffle has been added.

I feel much better about the whole thing now. We get on the tour boat for the same price we paid originally, plus enough OBC for a few drinks!
