RCL Transfer to airport after cruise

Thinking about using them for the new york sightseeing and drop off at newark airport. anyone did this? if so how was it any info appreciated!

We did it a couple months ago.  It was fine, a lot of time in the bus with 1 stop to the 911 memorial and the rest room. Our flight was later so it was better than sitting at the airport all day.

I did this in Sept. Agree with above poster. It was much better than sitting in the airport for 7-8 hrs. Plus you can’t check bags until 3-4 hours before flight.

We have done things slightly differently a couple of times.

 

When we have had a long wait for an international flight we have got an Uber to Manhattan and a left luggage office near Times Square I think it was.

 

Left our bags and spent the day sightseeing in Manhattan and even the taxi there and a taxi back to Newark was a lot cheaper than Royals ‘airport drop off’.

I would look online for an independent vendor offering a pickup at the cruise port and then tour where you are most interested.

Depends on the airline - UA @ EWR will check you in - up to 23 hours ahead of your flight!

Yes check in and check bags!

Just did that a few weeks ago after a cruise @9.30 am for a 21.20pm flight that day!

2 Bags - one was overweight by 2 pounds but they let it go....👌

We had this excursion pre-booked on Anthem last year. A couple of days before disembarkation, we were notified that the excursion had been cancelled. Guest Services and the Excursions Desk both told us that it was because they had not met the required minimum number of passengers, but there were plenty of taxis at the port to get to JFK. In other words, "Too bad! You're on your own." We took an Uber.

We did it once, several years ago. We others have said, it was better than sitting in the airport for several hours. We made two stops when we did it. One at the 9/11 Memorial and another at Rockefeller Center, which was mostly for the restroom, but we did have time to sightsee a bit.
