I book the cabin I want, so I don't use the upgrade, but for others, that's advantageous.

I can't understand why you wouldn't book the room you want using the upgrade.

Same, although I use a TA instead of HAL direct for the extra perks. TA calls HAL while I am on the line to check for availability, then books the cabin I want with club orange for the lower meta category price. Pay BC price + club orange cost for AS cabin.

  Please don't tell everyone.

Because I have booked first. Added CO later. I know, dumb move.

What I did was book the room I wanted (to secure it), then I called customer service, and ask if club orange is available.

It was available, so I got them to downgrade the room to cheapest guaranteed, I paid for club orange, and then selected the room I originally selected. All in the same phone call.

if they say you need to go through inventory, hang up and call again, and hopefully talk to someone who knows what they are doing.

the “chances” the room is selected in the 5 minutes that takes is slim, but I had had alternatives ready just in case.

when I did this, the down grade difference, plus the club orange was lower than the initial room selection.

No, not dumb.  Knowledge of this is just emerging.  You can take advantage of this next time.  It was only blind luck that got me my first OC upgrade that was worth around 1,000.

If you have a refundable deposit (and you won't lose too many booking promo perks - do the math), cancel are re-book.

If you book your cruise with a PCC or HAL rep this becomes a one-step process for you.  Call your PCC and select your stateroom, add club orange, and you are billed for the lowest priced stateroom within that meta category.  Both the PCC and TA have to call to confirm that CO is available.

Club Orange Terms & Conditions: Club Orange pricing starts from US$25 per person, per day on cruises 13 days or less or US$15 per person, per day on cruises longer than 13 days.

You or your TA has to contact HAL to add it to a booking.

Has anyone found exceptions to this pricing? I just booked a 7-night cruise for July 2025 and expected to pay $175 for Club Orange. My TA was told that because I have a casino rate I am eligible for a casino discount on Club Orange as well. Therefore, I only paid $149 for the 7-night cruise. I fully expect HAL to ask for its $26 at some point but who knows.

I've not received a discount on CO with a casino rate; it's been the same price regardless of rate type. Maybe there's been a change🤷‍♀️

We noticed that Club Orange seems very popular but what was your reason for booking Orange? It seems to offer not much beyond a separate and smaller venue than MDR.

I am curious what the reasons were for people who have booked Orange on past or future cruises.

our CO reason

up-graded cabin choice

smaller dining area

on and off ship priority

it paid for itself with upgraded cabin choice IMO

Thank you!  We are on a 14 day TA crossing, so it seems to be worth the money.  I will reach out to HAL.

good luck on both ends

No No No. Never buy club orange. It is never worth it. And if you don't buy it it will be available for me......
