CruisinCadie Posted January 14 #1 Share Posted January 14 Is Coco Cay a tender port? Or is there a dock to disembark? We are both seniors and mobility challenged, so would like to be prepared. Thanks, Kathy
Sunshine3601 Posted January 14 #2 Share Posted January 14 After you disembark from the ship look for the tram station. The tram is excellent to ride throughout the island and has many drop off/pick up locations.
CruisinCadie Posted January 14 Author #3 Share Posted January 14 Thanks for your speedy replies. We will be sure to check out the tram. Kathy
smokeybandit Posted January 14 #4 Share Posted January 14 Note there are two trams. A small one to take you onto the island from the ship and a larger one that takes you around the island. They meet up at the same point so you can catch the island tram the same place you get off the ship tram.

For some reason they use smaller trams from the ship and there can be a line if you get off the ship at a popular time.

Wish we had waited. The pier is way too long if walking is challenge. At about 1, we waited about 15 min. And there was a place to sit down. The first tram also gets "saved or reserved" for guests with Genies, so sometimes you'll see a tram but be told it's reserved for suite guests. Just so you don't get made when you see an empty one sitting there...that's why

We were pleasantly surprised the smaller tram we boarded near the ship also took us around the island. And we got picked up by a small tram outside the beach club that took us directly to the ship. Was great not having to switch trams at their tram depot.
RFerrington Posted January 15 #9 Share Posted January 15 If you're lucky enough to get onto one of the handicapped-accessible pier trams they will actually continue on around the island - they do not stop at the big tram hub and offload you. I always try and get one of those trams if I can. No changing !

yogimax Posted January 15 #11 Share Posted January 15 Also be aware that for those who have mobility issues walking on the uneven sand can be hazardous. Please be especially careful.
