Free at Sea - Specialty Dining Pkg

Hi all!  New to NCL.  Was looking to purchase a cruise with the Free at Sea amenities.  One question.  On a 7 day cruise it shows two free meals with the Specialty Dining.  Is this per person or per stateroom?  Thanks.

The free at sea meals are individual credits. So both people in your room

will get two meals.

• Dining package is applicable to guest ages 2 and older
• Package prices are subject to change
• Guest is responsible for 20% gratuities on the retail value of the Specialty Dining Package prior to cruise
• 20% gratuities on the retail value of the Specialty Dining Package are included when booking through the Australia office
• For Casino booked reservations – promotion code CASFAS will be added under referral code CASUPALL on sail lengths 7 nights or longer for Balcony and above staterooms
• Packages are based on a per meal basis
• Any Harvest Caye bars, restaurants, or venues, The Bake Shop, Ice Cream Bar, Gelato, specialty items in the Asian restaurant, Special Occasion/Holiday menus (New Year's, Christmas, etc.),
• Jazz Brunch, Wine Lovers and Murder Mystery lunches, and beverages are not included as part of the Specialty Dining Packages
• Guests are permitted to pre-reserve specialty dining with entertainment included However, the guest is responsible to pay the full retail value
• If the guest chooses to use the reservation as part of their specialty dining package, they will need to make these arrangements once onboard
• Specialty Dining Packages include one main course per person at Cagney's and Le Bistro
• Additional main courses will be charged at the a la carte price listed on the menu
• There is no minimum or maximum to the number of meals that can be redeemed in a day, however each meal is counted towards the package

Hi, we are also new to NCL and have the Free at Sea for a May cruise.

We reserved our two Specialty dining using the NCL app (for Cagney's and Le Bistro).  What "arrangements" need to be made if we already reserved in the specialty restaurants?

None.

 

Just go along to the restaurant and they will use your dining credit to cover the meal. They will probably confirm with you at the start that this is how you are paying, but the assumption will be that you are unless you tell them otherwise.

 

The dining credit is on the system so they will be aware of it.

Ok that's good to know because we will probably eat a little bit at Food Republic and didn't want to apply our specialty dining credit for that.

I just got off the Getaway, 5 day cruise in a solo studio cabin.  I got one free specialty meal with my fare.  Prior to the cruise I had booked La Cucina for the second night.  But, on the first night after the solo meeting a group of us decided to go to Ocean Blue instead (one person had already made a reservation for 4).  So 4 of us solos went, we all said we were using our FAS dining credit, we were all told we owed nothing.  Later that night I stopped by La Cucina and told them I'd need to cancel my reservation for the next day.  No problem. Then a credit for $104/La Cucina appeared on my account in the app.  I assumed they'd figure it out.  Nope, the last night of the cruise it was still there.  I went to the duty free shop and bought some bottles of booze to take home.  I'm not sure how that happened but I wasn't going to bring it to NCL's attention.

Reservations are highly recommended for all specialty dining.
 

When you show up to the restaurant, the hostess will inquire how you are going pay: Free at Sea specialty dining credit, purchased specialty dining credit, Latitudes voucher, other voucher or just a room charge. 

 

So, for one or two dishes at FR, you just order and pay (room charge) at your table.

Yes, hostess asked if we are using FAS; servers are also asking again.
