Independent tours in Vietnam

We have just disembarked the Celebrity Solstice today after a great cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong.  We used Tour with Xuan in Ho Chi Minh City and in Nha Trang.  The tours were excellent, very well organised and our guide Xuan was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited.  His tours were the absolute best experiences we had on the cruise.  If you’re looking for a private tour in Vietnam I would highly recommend taking a look at his website.  If you tour with him you’ll not be disappointed!

Agree. I used Xuan on 2 trips to Vietnam, and he is the best!

We can only agree as well! We booked him for DaNang and Ho Chi Min City and had a blast with both tours! He is a great organizer and the perfect guide for Vietnam!
Can highly recommend him and his tours for anybody on a cruise. He is taking good care of his customers and will make sure that you are not going to miss your ship on the way back.

Thank you again for posting your wonderful "almost live" report of your recent cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong. It was very enjoyable and informative. We are going on a similar cruise at the end of February 

 

Do you happened to know or be willing to recommend, what is an appropriate level of gratuities for  Thailand and  Vietnam for your private guides you used ? Also is it better for to use local currency or USD?

 

Just trying to figure out what we need to bring in terms of local currencies in each country

If you are in Nha Trang I would highly recommend Hai- great guide and very good English.  He is also a rescue diver and also took us on a fabulous snorkeling tour to the marine park there.  You can message him on WhatsApp

In Vietnam we followed a general recommendation of  Rose and tipped 500,000 VND / USD 20 for both of us for a day.

We used Xuan for HCMC and Nha Trang and can highly recommend him.  He is an excellent guide who takes great care of his customers and obviously loves his job.  He always answered any questions prior to the tours very promptly and kept in touch when our port schedules were constantly changing.
