cruiserhal Posted February 22 #1 Share Posted February 22 Sorry but it has been many years since leaving from NY with NCL. Is there a special place for luggage drop off for Haven guests? Thanks for any information you can provide.

You just give it the same porters who are handling the steerage passengers' luggage.

You will go up the ramp to the parking lot. Pay and go down to the pier, turn into the parking area and security will be there to look in your trunk or hatch. As soon as you are cleared their is an area you can pull over, porters are there to put your baggage on carts and take them down stairs. Go park and make your way down to the security and check in

dexddd Posted February 23 #6 Share Posted February 23 It has varied a bit over the years, but once entering the hall, normally the Haven hosts are on the right. Have proof as sometimes they try to tell you no. Once they approve, it was a zig to left for security than zag to right to the lounge last time. They'll escort you through the main hall. Baggage drop-off is outside ship terminal, curbside - typically Pier 88 is used, sometimes, ship might be berthed at Pier 90 next "door" and ALL luggage transfers are handled by unionized port workers - regardless of your "status". There is seldom a wait or any kind of line, they are typically within 25 feet of where your limo dropped you off - cash is king, USD tipping is cheerfully welcomed and accepted. You will see the porters piling luggage on top of others in giant carts - just make sure it's properly tagged. Shore side operations is contracted by ports to a 3rd party and within the past 2 years, they've made ongoing adjustments to tweak the check-in process and how passengers are funneled thru once inside the terminal. First checkpoint is the document screener that will direct you ahead to go thru port security, there might / should be a bypass or shortcut for Accessible pax as well as Haven, usually on the left. If not, once thru security, there are greeters with NCL name tags stationed there to direct you, based on your "status" and sometimes deck location. The Haven lounge used be a short walk, a small enclosed lounge on the right and in earlier days, Haven waiting area was to the left (most recently, it has been designated/used for accessible passengers. At least one of the Haven lounge plus an overflow area (depending on the ship & Haven pax headcount) - it has been moved to the far end or back further into the terminal (all these on Level 2 where most folks arrive from or get dropped off) - just a much longer walk than 4 or 5 years ago (pre-Covid days) You can't quite see one of the "uniformed" NCL shore agent standing there (left orner near the entrance to the accessible check-in & waiting lounge) - s/he and/or someone with the distinctive Haven work clothes are usually stationed nearby to direct, escort and help.
