Views as we approach Amber Cove:

TIP:  For this port, find the 'secret decks' to see a full view of the approach to Amber Cove.  Go all the way forward on deck 7, 9, or 11 past the cabins.  There are doors (sometimes both sides, but go port/left side to be sure) that lead to the "secret decks".  They are double doors - one with a porthole, then a full wooden door to keep wind contained a bit.  You can get a beautiful forward view of Amber Cove without the glass obstruction from Serenity.  NOTE: sometimes these are closed due to high winds, but they are typically open as you approach port since the ship cruises at a slower speed.

Deck 9 forward:

Norwegian Epic, a ship and cruise that surprised us!  We enjoyed that ship so much, despite the 'beastly hotel' look - it became a Beauty to us:

Love the vivid colors!!

❤️ I recently received a new iPhone 15 Pro when we switched to T-Mobile.  I am so impressed with the quality of the pictures.  Most of them are raw footage with only the 'auto enhance' feature (which takes away some of the hazy look we often see in the Caribbean due to humidity).

Touring Amber Cove:

This was our first visit to Amber Cove.  We got off the ship quite early because a rain shower was moving in.  We wanted to get the views and pictures before the rain.

TIP:  I will do my best to show where everything is, with yellow arrows on pictures to indicate the locations.   Basically, when you enter the port, shopping, the Amber Cove Sign, and the main restaurant are to the left.   The pool with water sports are to the right.  The zipline is up the hill by the Sky Bar.  Here is the map of Amber Cove:

Entrance:

TIP: It is a long pier walk, but they have bikes (pedicabs) that will give you a ride for a tip.

Beach next to the Port (exit gates and walk to the left).  The bartender told us it is open to public - don't know if there is a fee.  We did not explore this option, as the rain was coming.

A View of the Plaza outside the shops:

TIP:  If you like to get your passport stamped in ports, that  round building to the right behind this tree has the stamp.

Is this an official government stamp?  Just curious if anyone has actually had problems having souvenir stamps.  I always hear you can get in trouble, but others say its fine.  I just never took a chance since it does state in the US passport only authorized government officials are allowed to leave any mark.

Did you get a "fish pedicure" while you were there?  That is one of dd's favorite things to do at AC.  Me - I pass on it every time - lol!

I pass on it every time too! 😄

I don't know the answer to that.  Never thought about it - thanks for the info!  I travel too much to add unnecessary stamps to my passport, so I only get a stamp when the customs officials stamp my passport - mostly in Africa.

Afternoon Fun:

As soon as the rain shower ended, the ship had a mass exodus around 11 AM.  So, we returned to enjoy the 'empty' ship again. I got to be the only one in the pool.  This is the picture of the still empty pool right after I swam. 😄

TIP: Go on the SkyRide as soon as you can on the ship.  It was closed so much during our cruise due to rain or wind.  Also, you must wear closed-toe shoes and dry clothing to use the SkyRide.  You are not allowed to have any loose items in your pockets. Don't lose your place in the line due to not meeting the dress code. We finally got our turn today.

The views were AMAZING!  I wish I had a camera to take pictures or video from the SkyRide.

My View: End of Day 7 - Amber Cove

We would love to return to this beautiful port and friendly people, but we like Taino Bay better with that fun lazy river...
