I just had my 2nd cruise with Carnival Corp. and went with my 18 year old daughter for her 18th bday/ graduation celebration trip. I have been on Royal Carrabiean twice and Carnival Magic, this was my 2nd cruise with CCL.

 Review of Carnival Sunrise-

1. Flew into Miami day before, stayed in Tru by Hilton in Bricknell district area, loved it, easy to taxi and Uber to and from airport and to cruise port.

2. Embarkation- I purchased Faster to Fun- 100.00. We got on Ship around 11:15-11:30, easy process, moved quickly and did our Munster drill. We had backpacks and carry-on bags, not luggage, I checked that into the porter guy, but we went directly to cabin 1405 to drop off our big carry on bags and it was easy. The doors were heavy to pull open, but we did it, dropped off in the room and left. We went directly to Lido deck grab perfect sun chairs right above the hot tubs, and sun bathed until sail away party. No problems grabbing chairs, as we FTTF pass so on early in the first group.

3.First day- we had fully accessible cabin 1405, I had foot surgery and was in a boot and the room was in the aft of ship and was great. It had 2 twin beds and a roll in bathroom and couch, very spacious. Ate at Italian Cucina restaraunt- delicious, I made reservations weeks before.

4. Day 2- Day 5: This was a spring break cruise, obviously I knew this. Along with me and so many other people who have posted on FB group, these kids were unruly, rude, no parent supervision and just unreal. They ran the hallways til 2am-3am in morning, loud, knocking on doors, cussing  non-stop. I get it, they are teens and tweens, but I was in shock how the parents didn't care at all. But My daughter and I had a great time and just ignored the craziness.

The staff was amazing!! Shout out to Ramon from Barbados who served lido deck and liquid lounge, comedy club. He was the best server ever and really took care of me and my daughter. Leon was an amazing CD and was full of energy and just so much fun. His mom was on the ship as a surprise and he introduced her to us and was so delightful. We went to every dance-singing show and comedy show, we loved it. Drew Fraser was hilarious and we enjoyed all the entertainment.

The one complaint I have, even ignoring the rude teenagers, was the little kids in all the hot tubs like it was a kiddie pool. We sat above the hot tubs every sea day and not one kid was supervised except maybe a hand full, adults could not go in those hot tubs, they were full to the rim with little kids like 5 year -12 year olds. I feel like Carnival should have signs or rules stating no kids under 16 , I couldn't even get in a hot tub one time, it was too full with unsupervised kiddos.

5. Food- loved all the food in MDR and the pizza, the wok bowl, guys, and blue cantinna, sea day brunch.

6.FTTF-def will purchase again as we had a tender port this week and it was very handy and the guest service line- I used about 4 times and walked right up.

7. SMOKE ON MY FLOOR- On my floor about 6 rooms down there was smoke in the hallway and deck due to a guy charging his  scooter in outlet and it smoked up, but Carnival was on it right away, the smell and smoke was unpleasant but staff did the best they could to fix it, and we just stayed out of our cabin until it was fixed.

8.Debarkation- it took forever and the line without passports, just birth certificates and ID-took 2-3 hours I heard. So they stopped calling groups for awhile. We had passports and finally left ship at 11:00 am, got right through the passport line no problems. Our flight was at 5 so we didn't mind the wait. I suggest bring your passport-easier

BLUE CARDS- Since this was Spring Break I did notice about 80-90% of the passengers had blue cards, first cruise, I saw hardly any platinum or diamond, not many gold and some red, but all blue, so maybe that's why people got so annoyed? Plus we talked to lots of people and they all said -it is my first cruise, so maybe that's why it was a little crazy.

I already booked December Celebration and excited.

I would suggest not going on the Sunrise on Spring break wait a couple weeks before or after Spring break.

Thanks for review. I was on Venezia spring break/Easter cruise and experienced similar. The ship has only 2 hot tubs and 2 small pools so it was very noticeable. I keep my Fanny parked on a chair anyway so didn’t affect me! I think one of biggest problems when there are a lot of kids (and I hope I’m not flamed!) are the bar seats. I like to sit at the various bars and have a few drinks, chat with bartenders and watch them perform their magic lol, but lots of parents with 2-4 little kids sitting on the stools and no room for me!  This was a constant at every bar for 11 days! 🫤 🤷‍♀️
