pay no mind; the french snicker at everybody.

except jerry lewis, for some odd reason. (not jerry lee lewis, but jerry lewis.)

anyway, the french snicker.

it's mandated in the constitution of the fifth republic.

Sunset tonight is 10 PM+ under cloudy skies.  Prima is going almost 21 kts with sea state being a bit rougher and waves probably 3 to 4 m or 10' & higher, usual & expected for this segment of the crossing.

Hold on to railings and those barf bags should be out by the stairs & elevator lobby, etc.  Station Zebra will remain on stealthy watch as we head upstairs from our midship cabin to dinner.

Yes, there is a cargo ship on starboard side heading east, like us - 20X zoom bring in the details better.

Have you googled “Icelandic Phallological Museum?”

Agree the Perlan Museum was very interesting and well done. I spent a few hours there last time but we had limited time yesterday.

I had not, but now I have.

Or as the Monty Python Flying Circus used to say, "here's something completely different.".

Nurses are angels on Earth ❤️

I was in hospital management for many years. Nurses were my favorite employees.

Doctors, on the other hand...in the words of Forrest Gump, when talking about a box of chocolates..."You never know what you're going to get." Although, I've never bitten into a doctor (or a nurse, for that matter) to see if they had a nougat filling. Good thing I retired before I got the urge...

Where's the best place to see turnips? 😛

Apparently they're a big thing over there, per @mking8288 👇

I think according to cc rules, you are not supposed to turn up (drum roll please) your nose at someone's typographical errors. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Whoops…that should be je ne sais quoi. Better brush up on my French before they let me loose in Le Havre. The French will likely snicker at me regardless.

I was thinking that but didn’t want to correct it and seem snarky.

Yes to nurses' week, older cousin of mine in San Francisco, CA was going to retire but kept going due to global pandemic and one of my young nephew as ER nurse in the Bronx (NY)

As we're returning to the ship after dropping our rental AWD off  - we saw 3, maybe 4 crew members with roller boards and carry-on luggage heading into the terminal building before noon.

Sadly 🙏 I come to the realization that more than 3 passengers will not be onboard again to continue the TA to reach mainland, EU ... up to 3 guests were taken off the ship for medical emergencies - and while we do not know for sure of the outcome. Pray that they & their love ones are doing well & as best as they can be. Wish them speedy recovery and in good hands.

We had heard the night befor we reached Iceland that 3 were leaving. Sad to hear that was true.

Prayers for them and their families.

Saw some of what looked like maybe crew changes too.

God speed for all traveling

Tonight, despite what I personally consider moderate sea state of 3 to 4 m, 10 to 13 ft. waves with a strong wind diagonal across the bow, we are truly racing at 1 AM doing 22 kts, up from 20 to 21 kts.

PXL_20240506_214925247.thumb.jpg.d4a9720de02ce1ca1191eb79f66b30fd.jpg

I have no idea why the crew set up the loungers & chairs outside on Ocean Walk in the morning, it was wet with showers & clouds and sun in between, windy & chilly in the 40's.  Maybe, crew exercises to prepare ahead for Europe once we reach temps of 50's and 60's.

BTW, the 4 pier runners made it back to the ship as their friends onboard frantically called them to hurry up or else ... idiots 😕

We spent just under $60 USD equivalent to refill the 1/2 tank of gasoline used by the Toyota Highlander.

i never had much luck at palomar, except for two dishes: something they called "mushroom tartare" was sensational as an app, but i don't think it's even still on the menu. the galaktoboureko dessert was also fabulous.

We like Palomar. Moving our 3rd SD back there after ok LB.

Heard the fish baked in salt is great.

We had the Dover sole the other night. It was good.

We were up early and did immigration at 730a.
Had breakfast. Sent out second laundry so we will be ok to repack in a few days

What is that "fish in bread" thing? O.o

It's a sea brass coated with a bread-like coating, not just sea salt but seasoning, oven baked for 35 minutes & then de-boned in front of your eyes w fork & squeezer carefully ... very tasty & excellent. MP or market priced, $90 and you can use 2 dining package or the Platinum voucher for 2 - 2 starter/appetizer/salad plus 2 sides and 2 desserts - enough for 3 to share.

Dover Sole in Le Bistro was good, this was even better.  Highly recommend the baked fish for seafood loving cruisers for a healthier meal vs that 12 oz. or 16 oz. red meat daily.

We also learned that the bread served in Palomar came from outside vendor & not made freshly onboard, unlike other bakery items as the niece w food allergies had been advised to avoid it, just in case.

Immigration check moving faster than scheduling w 2 Border Police doing the visual passport inspection inside The Commodore Room w the line snaking around the Belvedere Lounge - about 20+ minutes in a moving line.

What show is pictured?  Maybe a new one called 'Swingers'?  Or perhaps 'Ladies Think One Guy Hot, One Not'?  Always such pretty people on NCL.

After church we visited the Icelandic Phallological Museum. I figured anything with the word “logical” in it would be scientifically-based.

Sorry no pics.

Mr. Schoompie might be inquiring after my recent post that this is a real place.

Close enough while dropping off the car & took photos in the unlikely case of issues w body damaged ... It was rather windy at times and had to mind holding the car door while opened for egress.

Width between marked parking spots are tight as local drive mostly small, compact n subcompact cars ... was tempted to rent a Toyota beast, the Land cruiser 😊 to sail &:sustain.  The cost for filling the "petrol" tank reminds me of driving in Canada. Highlander seats 6 but really best for 5 adults in 2 rows as the 3rd row is really for children.  Legroom in the 2nd row isn't that good once I adjusted the driver seat properly, and as you know, true for anyone over 6 ft.
