First time as Casino Royale Prime-Can someone please help me with booking questions for redeeming cruise?

The difference between booking VOOM before you board and after with Prime is that you do not get any credit for your free days if you are Diamond or D+ when pre-booking.  If you are Prime you can use your free days first and then book a package using the Prime discount.  We're D+, so we can each use 2 days and then buy a Prime discounted 2 device package for the rest of the trip, or share the free days for 4 days and then share a discounted one-device package for the rest of the trip, which offers substantial savings over pre-booking.

If you are D or D+ it should be cheaper to wait until you board, but if you are not it just depends on if the pre-book sale is more than 30% off. Since moving to Starlink and the single speed option I have found that the onboard VOOM prices have seemed to remain pretty consistent from what they quote in the prebook base price for the sales and the actual onboard price.

We were typing similar response at same time😃

Thanks all on the VOOM thoughts.  The interplay of the free D and D+ days was one I was wondering about.

Separate question related to the actual OP topic - is there any use or benefit to having a casino booking moved over to a travel agent.  We have always booked all our cruises with one of two agents who typically get us great OBC offers....I'm assuming with a casino booking, there's no "double dipping" or other advantage to moving the booking to an agent (even if possible)?

Most travel agents have little interest in servicing a casino comp booking.  There is virtually no commission unless there has been a significant paid upgrade on the booking.  Therefore, an agent will offer no booking incentives (OBC/comp dining, etc) for a casino comp booking.  The only advantage to using a TA is the usual one - if there is an issue with the booking (cancellation, modification to the itinerary, etc) then an agent is always a help. Otherwise, barring any cruise-related complications, there is no real advantage to using a TA for a casino comp booking.

Also going to hijack this thread........... Has anyone ever tried or been able to use the annual reward to book a 9-14 day Alaska Cruisetour since the cruise itself is only 7 days? TIA

We booked for first time casino comp from play on our last cruise , called and got our room etc.   but when I try to add the reservation to our account via on line or ap it doesn’t find the reservation.   Is this normal? Am I missing a step since this is a comp cruise ?

Casino comps normally go through an additional check or something  - if you try to add the booking does it say something like its already added and then does not show?  If so that's normal.

It its not finding the booking at all I'd call back to check you have the right booking number.

I just booked my first casino offer - very exciting!  I wanted an upgrade and figured out the cost difference before I called and the upgrade cost I was quoted was about $250 less than I was expecting!

A couple questions though:

1) the nice lady I talked to had me pay the upgrade cost immediately even though the cruise isn't for a while.  is that standard?

2) on board, was told I need to purchase a next cruise certificate before leaving the ship to get the deal. When I called, was not asked about it so offered the info. Was it really necessary?  And if I had just gone with the comp cabin category, confused as to what the $200 would go toward, fees and taxes and grats maybe?

Thanks

I called casino royale and booked about an hour ago and it's on the website already. I also got an email confirmation as soon as I was off the phone. This is also my first one so don't know if that is the regular occurrence

Yes, next cruise booking is required for a lot of the onboard casino certificates.

The certificate you received should have provided the details on the benefit of booking with next cruise.

If you did not upgrade the $200 deposit thru next cruise would have been applied towards your port fees & taxes.

Enjoy😊..we have been casino prime members for several years and have had some great deals.

Check clubroyaleoffers.com website weekly for new offers.

Thanks for the info; I've cruised for a long time and gambled a bit here and there, but now am pretty intrigued by this whole comp thing!

And, yes, am glad that I did buy the Next cruise certificate for the additional OBC 🙂

In my experience, not for the $ off certs.

To: @DandDM--booked Utopia on a b-to-b 3 and 4 niters and had to pay upfront the entire cruise fare.  The offer was free for the principal and second pax a discounted amount.

I racked up 1500 points on a recent cruise and received a offer of a comp room and $100 free play, I booked it using the clubroyale online form when I got home- no nextcruise credit and oddly they came back with an invoice with a zero value- no taxes to pay.

Not sure what to do with it now, its all linked and showing as no balance to pay!

I have heard that some offers do not include 2nd passenger as part of the comp but have not yet received one.   Both DH and I are prime so we sometimes combine our offers for upgrades.

Yes, when booking thru casino you must always pay at time of booking whatever the remaining balance is after the comp or $$ off is applied.  Has been this way for several years.

I use this https://clubroyaleoffers.com/ but I'm finding it's better to call to book. I used the redeem form but it's been over a day. I wonder if the spots are filling up while I wait. But I find I see offers on the website before I get the email.

Also, it looks like some offers you can book yourself on the website. The offer type:

"AVAILABLE FOR ONLINE BOOKINGS THROUGH RCCL.COM" I haven't done it but is there a downside to doing this instead of calling?

So far I've booked every offer (4), am I blowing up my player rating for future offers? This is after earning Prime on my last cruise for the first time ever. I haven't taken a cruise since.

I have never booked thru the clubroyaleoffers site.  I always call as we almost always upgrade cabin type and their upgrade pricing is much better than what you find on their website.

Book away, they should love seeing you are using their offers as that will hopefully mean you will be back to the casino for play.

Have fun😊

If it's a straight $ off eg. $300, one does not pay the entire balance due.

Really, never heard that before.  Any cruise I booked through casino number with an offer required payment in full at time of booking.

As a matter of fact, I had my TA apply the $ off after getting approval from Royal.

Great info here, thanks everyone for posting! Good to know that if you do a completely free cruise, the nextcruise balance can be used as OBC.  And also happy to see that I received correct information on board and during my booking process 🙂

Keep up the good work!

I believe the credit if it's from the Casino it will show up when you start playing.  No T&F is strange.  Maybe since you are such a good Casino client 😊they are eating it.

If by "credit" you are referring to your freeplay....no it wouldn't automatically show up when you start playing....you must go to the casino host and have them download it onto your account. I wish they would have it that it was automatically downloaded.

For the "available online bookings" those are great...they allow you to go right online...chose your cabin and book it yourself. No downside that I have seen.

I was told by the landside Casino rep that the free play amount(s) would show up as soon as you enter your seapass in the slot machine, like the small amounts that one gets based on their C&A status.
