lidodeck03 Posted April 22 #1 Share Posted April 22 Looking for recommendations for restaurants near San Diego Cruise Terminal. Seafood, Steakhouse, or Italian is preferred. Price range $$-$$$. Thank You!
disneyochem Posted April 22 #2 Share Posted April 22 (edited) Our favorite restaurant in Little Italy is Bencotto: https://www.lovebencotto.com/ It's just a 15-20 minute walk from the cruise port. Edited April 22 by disneyochem
CruiserBruce Posted April 22 #3 Share Posted April 22 Try the Fish Market. A couple blocks south.

Hubby loves getting an appetizer portion of the cheese wheel pasta. There's a pretty good bar menu as well. Enjoy.
93yearsyoung Posted April 23 #6 Share Posted April 23 Portside Pier is right next to the cruise terminal with 3 or 4 restaurants, mostly seafood. For Italian you'd want to walk up to Little Italy and there are a half dozen or more good places.
ATSEAMYLIFE Posted April 23 #7 Share Posted April 23 Eddie V's (steak and seafood) is good and in a cool area. It doesn't open until 4:00 PM however.
3girlsmom Posted April 23 #8 Share Posted April 23 I agree with CruiserBruce, the Fish Market is a great choice. We walked there along the waterfront which was fun. The food was great (yummy chowder!) and the views out on the patio were spectacular.
KeepCalmBearOn Posted April 24 #9 Share Posted April 24 If you are eating dinner, we much prefer Top of the Market, upstairs from the Fish Market. We are hoping they start doing lunches again one day. At the Portside Pier we like the Brigantine, but really like the Ketch Grill & Tapas. It has such a great menu and atmosphere, 1
ATSEAMYLIFE Posted April 25 #10 Share Posted April 25 It's not near the cruise terminal but a short trolly ride into Gaslamp our fav is Louie & Mickey's. Just avoid it if there's an event at Petco. https://www.louandmickeys.com/
calbred Posted April 30 #11 Share Posted April 30 I will throw out something a bit different. I love taking the ferry across to Coronado and lots of restaurants within walking distance of the Ferry Landing. Nice way to spend and afternoon or evening also. On Sunday there was a band playing also on the grass.

My mom and dad lived on Coronado at the Landing and there's several very good places to eat near the ferry landing and the trip isn't bad also. Now if you want to go 1st class book a dinner or cocktail sunset bay cruise. 1
SelectSys Posted May 4 #13 Share Posted May 4 Pheohe’s which is right by the Coronado Ferry Landing has one of the nicest views back to the city. I am not sure how good the food is there these days, but it should make for a nice outing.

It had been very good but we haven't been in five years.

It used to be my mother's favorite restaurant. No longer. I do go for Happy Hour, which is still great.

lidodeck03 Posted May 6 Author #17 Share Posted May 6 ****UPDATE**** We went to The Fish Market as was suggested by several people on this thread! There were four of us total and were able to get a table inside with a view of the water. The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional. I had the Cioppino, and it was one of the best I have ever had, and I have eaten a lot of Cioppino! I have no problem recommending this restaurant to anyone that is a seafood lover!
LynnSD Posted May 7 #18 Share Posted May 7 Great to hear. Fish Market is a long time fave of ours too!
