MCT Haven waiting also leaves a lot to be desired.

That's still loads better than the Haven waiting area in San Juan!

Enjoying your reports, as always. I believe you said earlier in the week that GM Ricardo would be going home yesterday. Do you know who took his place?

Ricardo was filling in for Ron while on vacation.  Ron supposed to be on ship for 5/19 cruise.  Ron is short for his actual name..

The A List bar is nestled between Le Bistro and Cagney’s. In the early evening, you get the overly inebriated guests waiting for a table yelling, screaming, and  carrying on and annoying those trying to enjoy their dinner.

Thank you. His real first name is Rohinton.

That stinks! I remember on my cruises, this bar (I think it's called Prime Meridian on other ships) has always been empty. I've always wondered why given it's location between Cagney's and whatever is opposite.

On Joy, A List was pretty tame when we were on too. Alas, it must be a rowdy bunch you have on board!

Love that bar.  We used to have CC tastings at the bar..the best time.

@BirdTravels We know you are a fan of the Thermal Suites on the other BA and BA+ ships.  Anxiously waiting for your review of the new space.

Enjoy the week!

The Thermal Suite is usually a Bird must have. But after checking out the new suite added to the Joy, biggest on any BA/BA+ ship, The Bird decided to pass.

The Bird will spend an hour in the hot bubbling waters of a hydrotherapy pool. The Joy has a 4-person hot tub (which will probably have 8 people crammed in which would not be relaxing or enjoyable).

The Bird also likes to lounge and relax. The Joy boasts 46 hot stone loungers. While a novelty, they are not comfortable and not really suitable for lounging. That being said, there were very few padded loungers or day beds. Another strike.

On the positive side, the sauna, steamroom, salt bath, and snow rooms are supersized, but none have a view outside.

Features like a cold plunge (which they have on the Jewel class ships) is of no interest. And the proessive showers, again, have no real value. (MSC has something similar in their thermal suite and going from scalding hot water to ice cold water is a gimmick and not a feature).

There are only 4 of the sensory loungers, so you can already see the chair hots parked there.

Over all, The Bird decided to pass.

IMO a wise move by the Birds since there is no pool.

Note that there is only one complimentary ferry on Day 3. Don’t watch the Joy sail by from the shores of St George.

Does Haven access get you in a separate line for boarding the NCL ferries?

There is a separate line for Haven guests using the NCL ferry to St George.  BUT that only helps during initial boarding.

We were in the steerage line and when they started boarding, there was no one in the Haven line. If the ferry is full of steerage guests and a Haven guest wanders up at departure time, the special line will only help them with the next ferry.

There is obviously no priority on the public ferries going to Hamilton or the public ferries going to St George.
