Deciding between Majestic & Enchanted?

Can you shed any other light on upcoming changes whilst Majestic is in dry dock? We're going on the first sailing after and keen to know what the extent of the dry-dock schedule was 🙂 Many thanks in advance.

It certainly seems that Majestic has it's quirks... at least for now

We were told that most of the dry dock will involve the standard up-dates such as new carpeting, re-painting the hull, replacement of furniture and mechanical updates.

The most significant updates from a passengers perspective is the changing of the restaurants.

That's great, thanks for your insight 👍

We just disembarked from the Majestic and spent 40 days on the Enchanted in Nov/Dec.

Majestic has a Vines wine bar, Enchanted does not.  Next March (2025), the Majestic is going to dry dock in Palermo.  The Harmony Restaurant is being removed and The Catch will move to that location.  A Sabatini's will be installed on Deck 7 in the current Catch location.  The Noodle bar will also be replaced with Pizza Slice venue.

@LACruiser88 Thank you for confirming the changes as we had discussed the possibility in your Live thread which was fantastic!!! My hope is since we are on the 3rd voyage after the dry dock the kinks will be worked out at the new restaurant locations and we look forward to dining at Sabatini’s🙂.

We will be back onboard the Majestic on Dec 1st for the 51-day, LA to Ft Lauderdale, voyage via South America.  I'll be able to confirm more details then.

Wow,  a lot of changes!!!

I would love to see a noodle bar that is as good as the one on Majestic is supposed to be, at the Buffet, or somewhere, on the Enchanted.

And, the way Princess is going with the Signature/Sanctuary class...  I could see this happening on the Royal Class ships. In fact, the cabin we have booked on Enchanted. ( Yes, we have D226!!! Sorry CanadaRocks!) would not be one that Princess would ever choose to re-catogorize as 'SANCTUARY'.   On the Majestic they should have the forward part of the Hollywood Conservative as Adult Only, or as a Sanctuary...  But, do not discount the possibility that this could become like the SUN princess, with NO access except for very expensive 'Sanctuary' class cabins/suites.  As mentioned in other threads...  and easy re-fit on Royal class ships.  The major dry-dock for the Majestic could be the first one they consider for this.

If they do away with an Adult Only area on the. Enchanted before we board, watch this happen the day after we reach Final Payment, and we would be paid In full....

NOTE TO PRINCESS....  please understand that a ship without access to an Adult Only area is a non-starter for us!!!!    Still considering canceling our booking on the SUN...  We had at least hoped that there would be access to the sanctuary...  and now it it is "SANCTUARY" class only.

No worries. Thanks for the tip and I'll remember it for next time. We've revamped our whole plan and we're not cruising in February or in the Caribbean after all. Enjoy D226! 😀
