HMC differences Carnival vs HAL

Recommended Posts

We love HMC, but have only been there on HAL.  What are the differences between HAL stops and Carnival stops?  How is the lunch served on the island?  Is it better to eat on the island or relax and have a late lunch upon return to the ship>

I've been to HMC with HAL and Carnival and didn't notice any differences.  Where to eat lunch depends on how much beach time you want, and whether you prefer the picnic atmosphere on the island or the calmer and more diverse options on the ship.

If you eat from the buffet under the giant palapa, then take your lunch to another covered area to eat, you will likely see chickens walking around.  Kids love that.  For those of us not from Miami/places that regularly see roaming chickens, it is entertaining.

That could be one of the rare times that the Lido lunch is the calmer option.

Need a lot of pigeons the you have so many Chinese restaurants

Actually, pigeon is a great tasting bird to be honest, if prepared correctly and when it is a wild variant ( and not a flying rat that we see in the city) .we do cook it here in Europe.

I was told by a fellow cruiser that the BBQ with HAL has better food.
If you book a cabana/Villa with HAL you can add on a for fee butler for the day.

We have a friend who is a friend of Sam the butcher from the Brady Brunch who said it was head and tails above.....😎
