That probably explains our unusual course. We are trying to get within helicopter range of Ireland. I hope all goes well.

The guy I spoke to who asked me to leave the deck has his hands rather full.back there.  Hopefully all will be well for the poorly person.

Rather stupidly there is no security at the doors to the rear and a large crowd is there.  The announcement is a little too late to help the staff trying to sort it.

Oh dear. Rather like rubber necking at a car crash. Very bad taste.

Not too sure everyone would agree with the plaudits to our Frank.

No one has to agree, it's personal choice.

I've met him at a charity event, a delightful person who's raised lots for different charities.

There are a lot more out there with Knighhoods and the like who've done a lot worse than him.

Totally agree, and many get honours for nothing more than making money.

The standing room only seems to indicate a great many do think highly of the man and as you say their choice.

I would cast no aspersions at Mr. Bruno, whom I know little about. I would say however that the raising of a lot of money for charities is often used to get away with less admirable activities. There was a neighbour of ours who did all sorts of charitable stuff and is now serving 16 years for drugs offences. And we can all think of better known examples, one of whom enjoyed his time in QE2. Please note this is not a dig at Mr.Bruno, just a comment on generalities.

Precisely.

The Captain has issued a ship wide instruction, including in cabins, that those of us in balcony cabins must remain inside with the doors closed. So our neighbours are ….. yep, on their balcony 🙄

No doubt they are not the only ones 😡

Thoughts and prayers to those involved.

Absolutely agree.  I was not asking anyone to agree with me as I'm sure you were not seeking agreement with your view.  I'm just putting out an alternate view.  There are more important things, such as the evac.

I am surprised that you are allowed to stay in your cabin as last year on Sky Princess the whole of the aft section had to vacate their cabins whilst there was a helicopter evacuation in progress.

I don’t know if they are struggling, but the helicopter has been with us around 20 minutes now and has circled the ship 4 or 5 times. I guess it’s likely to have been the first helivac conducted from Queen Anne

And more announcements from the Captain about staying indoors and no filming.  What on earth is wrong with people who can't follow a simple instruction.

Couldn't agree more, people should think about how fortunate they are not to be in this position and enjoy it rather than rubber necking at other peoples misfortune.

Let's hope they get them off soon so they can get the medical help they obviously need.

That's good news, hopefully all will be ok.

Well my first "official" disappointment.  Cunard Internet apparently bars access to all horse racing sites, including the Racing Post and Sporting Life.  As it's Oaks day and tomorrow's the Derby I'd hoped to access my account to follow along but it's not to be.

Seems hypocritical given that they encourage gambling by having a casino!

Do you have a VPN that you can try?

You're in port tomorrow, can't you follow on land somewhere?

I'm on a tour.  The race is off at 4.30pm so depends on all onboard time.  Hopefully.  I'm a huge horse racing fan so I'm very keen to watch.

We had something similar last year in a Medivac off Cornwall on a windy day last summer. The helicopter had to have several goes, and it took about half an hour altogether.

Yes, do you mean turn it off?

Normally a VPN would not give Cunard / Starlink the URL you are using, so with VPN on then it should work (so suggesting VPN on). However I would speculate that some racing sites don't want people using VPN to access their websites (so suggests off) - VPN users are a mixed bag.
