😆  Honestly, seeing as you are a CC host, you know as well as anyone that when you ask for an opinion on anything, three things will happen. every time:

1. 1,  Some people will like it 
2. 2.  Some people will dislike it
3. 3.  Some people will think it's okay

And since you don't know these people well enough to value their judgement, you are right back where you started.  😀

It wouldn't be a Carnival cruise without chowing down at Shaq's Chicken and Guy's Burgers. These two are my first go to meals/food on embarkation day. I hope one day Shaq's Big Chicken will have a spicy sandwich like Chick Filet. I wish they'd be open late night instead of the "midnight snacks." Which in my opinion are a must miss unless you are totally Schicker'd while hungry.

Expanding on my response. I usually do my time dining or late seating. When embarking there's lots to do... Muster Drill, visit spa (raffle).

Usually. I take advantage of my Miami Beach lodging and do an aquatic workout then dip in the ocean. For breakfast I'll Hoover down a Lara Bar. After swimming and the beach, I take a quick shower and its check out time and rock to the port (Port Miami). It's early, midafternoon when I'm on board and I have a fierce appetite. Though Shaq's Chicken and Guys have lines, they are faster than the buffet. And I can eat my Shaq's chicken or Guy's Burger outside on deck. One of my tips/hacks. I don't like cheese on my burgers. Most of Guy's non cheeseburgers are premade. I'll spend a little extra time and get my hamburger freshly cooked. Damn, I'm hungry and craving both.

Having been with Cruise Critic for over 20 years, I've learned that the members here always have the best information.  🙂 I like to hear all the feedback.  We'd go to Big Chicken no matter what but I like engaging members and hearing how they feel.

The only thing I don't like a Big Chicken is the pickles. I went and got pickles from Guy's and then my Chicken Sandwich when I was on the Mardi Gras. Side note Shaq opened a Big Chicken in one of the Casinos in Baton Rouge. I plan to visit when I go for work next month.

I like your style. I mix and match when I do Guy's and Shaq's. Fixings from both because that's how I roll and I'm HUNGRY!

Somebody mentioned that they wished Shaq's had a spicy sandwich - when we were on the Celebration in May, they had a sandwich called the "Uncle Jerome", that had "Nashville Hot" chicken on it, that my husband liked, that he said was kind of spicy.  Not sure if it was limited, or on all ships.

I agree with most posters; I am a chicken sandwichaholic and I LOVE those from Shaqs!  However, I also agree with most posters about those dry arse breakfast biscuits!  Stay away! lol

We had it on the Mardi Gras last month and found it to be just ok.  I was really looking forward to it but it was not what I was expecting or hoping for.  IMO it was not as good as Chik-Fil-A.  It was way over cooked and dry.  Adequate, but not what I was expecting.

I'll take Big Chicken (or Popeyes, or Church's, or KFC, or ...) over Chick-fil-A.

 

The hate chicken store has a number of really good things - but the actual chicken sandwich is basically a bland cafeteria quality chicken sandwich. I do not get the obsession.
