What parts of the Edge ship are off limits to someone staying in a regular/concierge room?

Recommended Posts

We are taking our first Celebrity cruise on the Edge in August.  Can someone help me understand what areas of the ship will be off limits since we are staying in a regular concierge room?  How are those areas market - with a sign or some other checkpoint?  I assume it will be obvious to us once on the ship?

On a side note - if our car service isn't picking us up on the day we disembark until 8:45, can we hang on the ship until then, or will the request that we leave at a certain time - when our group is called, for example?  We will have our own luggage when getting off, since we only pack carry on.

@Brentm77  The only two areas I can think of are "Crew Only" which are  clearly marked with signs and the Retreat areas which are marked and require keycard access.  On Edge this is deck 16 forward.

You will be told that you must be out of your room by a certain time, usually 0730 in our experience.  You then have the choice of waiting in any number of public venue's on the ship until you want to depart, as long as it is before 0930 or so when they want everyone off the ship.

In meeting your car service, do not forget about the time it is going to take you to clear customs and immigration.  This can be a quick process or it can be a slow one.  Too many variables to tell you with any degree of accuracy.

The only area you can't access is the Retreat area - lounge, sundeck, and restaurant. It's by room key access so you will know when yours doesn't work😁.

Blue Restaurant is for Aqua Class so you can't dine there.

Otherwise, the ship is yours.

Our last few cruises, there were groups getting off as late as your driver time. You need everything out of your room at 7.30 or so. Buffet closes at 8. Grab a plate and relax and walk off at 8.30 to catch your ride.

We were on the Edge in May and passengers were asked to be out of their rooms by 8 AM.  Earlier that morning we went to the buffet and returned to our room around 7:30 AM to grab our carry-ons.  Our stateroom attendant had already stripped our bed.  We grabbed our stuff and found some seats in Eden to await our time to disembark.

Friday is quite busy at Pier 91, as the 4800+ Ovation OTS passengers are also disembarking.

There will be no immigration at Pier 91. Are you planning to use luggage valet? If so, you can generally be curbside 5-10 minutes after walking off the ship. If not allow time to collect suitcases.

Your driver will not be able to pull up and wait for you (there is a designated area where those who obey the rules will wait until you text them) It took our driver 15+ minutes to get to us so don't wait until you are in the terminal to text 😆
