Heathrow to Greenwich (Novotel Hotel) Transportation

Recommended Posts

We are two ladies who will be flying into Heathrow and going to Greenwich for our Seabourn cruise in July. What is the safest best transportation to our Novotel Hotel in Greenwich? Thanks.

Safest would likely be a hired/limousine service.  Are you up for a metro and train combination to move you from LHR to Greenwich Novotel? @Globaliser may be able to provide some guidance on this.

We are into the easiest way….that is probably not a metro and train combination?

No, it likely isn't.  Perhaps you should consider arranging for a limousine transfer; it will probably end up costing you about £150 but, for sure, easy and safe.

For comparison, Uber is currently (Sunday morning, so quiet) quoting just under £60.

Sure, you’ll have to walk to the car park next to the terminal to find your driver as opposed to having your driver meet you in arrivals, but it’ll be considerably cheaper.

Just for completeness, it was Island2Dweller who recently posted what is probably the best route for this: Elizabeth Line to Canary Wharf, (very short) walk to West India Quay DLR, then a southbound DLR (destination Lewisham) to Greenwich DLR. The hotel is right next door to Greenwich DLR.

Safest?  London is (by international standards) an incredibly safe city.  Just use usual "big city street smarts" and you will be fine.  The train/DLR combination is perfectly safe if you prefer speed and value.  A pre-booked private hire car is definitely simple, but won't be quicker and will cost a lot more than public transport.

Easiest is a car service. I've used Blackberry Cars between the airport and central London and also London to Southampton. Clean cars, good drivers, and excellent communication.

Public transport is less expensive, but you have to consider that you'll have luggage to haul with you. There are times to save money, but IMO going from the airport to your hotel after a long flight is not one of those times.
