MSC Seashore, latest time to be out of cabin and off ship?

Hello!

Going on our first MSC cruise this October out of Cape Canaveral and we have a late flight home from Orlando. So wondering what time is all off the ship?

I have read we have to be out of our cabins by 7am, is this correct?  But not sure what time we have to be off the ship.

Will the kids be able to swim for a while before we have to be off?  And where will breakfast be and till what time?

Thank you in advance for your help!

You have to be out of cabins by 7:00.  There was breakfast at the buffet and in the dining room on the last morning.  The pools will have the nets over them, so no swimming.  We were one of the last groups off the ship and that was around 10:15.  It was running behind that day, so on a normal day they probably finish debarkation around 10:00.

Hi mcmomny! Hoping you have a wonderful first cruise on MSC. I will be on Seashore October 13-20 for my seventh cruise on that particular ship. One thing that may help you understand what disembarkation day is like is to watch the show I have linked below. It will give you a good idea of what the crew has to go through on "Turnaround Day". Please note that the times they state in this video for final disembarkation and such were before Covid and they now need people off even earlier.

Thank you GA Dave!

Yes I have seen this video before and also the making of Ocean Cay Island, all very interesting.

I completely understand the work it takes to turn over any cruise ship, we have done the ship tour twice now on NCL and it really is amazing all they do!

It is new to me to have to be out of our cabin by 7 am, and not sure what we can or cannot do on MSC ships so asking the experts!

I know on NCL we can stay in our cabin till 9 am which we normally don't as we do want to help out the crew and get out of our cabin so they can turn it over! Plus we typically have a flight home right away.

We had great return flights but now Southwest has cancelled our flight and we won't fly out till late at night so just trying to figure out what to do with a 3 and 5 year in tow!

So guess we will eat breakfast and head out shortly there afterwards, maybe check out the missiles at the Space center and slowly drive to Orlando!

Really looking forward to the MSC experience!

We were on once for a B2B and gathered in the Top Sail Lounge waiting to be escorted off the ship last to do our facial recognition and get back on board the ship. The Cruise Director came on the public address system and made an last call to get off the ship at 10:45 am. A few minutes later we were escorted to the gangway and put in front of group of one hundred other B2Bers and lead off the ship to luggage pick-up /CBP/facial recognition. There we waited and waited in line. I asked the butler escort what was the hold up ? The place is empty with just us and the facial recognition people just standing behind their cameras. The butler said the ship is not zeroed out yet, someone or some group is hiding out or taking their sweet time to get off the ship. Once the are found and escorted by sheriff's dept off and they go through facial recognition then the B2Bers can be processed. More than you need to know, but someone might be interested. We were allowed back on at 11:30 am.

Thank you!

We don't plan on being the last ones off and having a visit with the sheriff! 😅

Now that I know about all we can do is eat breakfast we will disembark shortly after eating and let the crew do their magic!

This is one of the most frustrating parts of cruising for me. You have 5000+ people wanting to get their cruises started and one or two selfish people can hold them all up. People need to understand when they book a cruise that it is based on the number of nights only. I hate when someone says, "I booked a three-night, four-day cruise". That last "day" is not a day to enjoy the ship. It is a day to get your butt up and off so the people waiting to board can at least have part of their "day 1".

@MCMOMMY  Have you looked into taking your kids to Disney World in Orlando?  Depending on what time your flight is, you may want to consider taking them and just walking around the park, enjoying lunch there.  Seems like that would be fun for kids their age.

There is also Sea World in Orlando as well.

I'd consider getting a one way car rental and spending the day (for free!) at Disney Springs.  Plenty to do to occupy a day and then head back to airport.  Disney tickets for a family is $$$$$$ 🙂 especially after getting off a cruise.

You mentioned having sailed on NCL before. Did you status match on MSC? If you are Diamond on MSC, you are allowed to stay in your cabin until 8:00, but you should probably warn your room steward of your plans ahead of time.

Yes we did match but only received Gold, we are Platinum with NCL

Yes, we have a car rental already and will most likely just do Disney Spring's as you are right!  Disney is very expensive!

I agree with skipping Disney.

If you guys like the beach, you are only 15 minutes from Cocoa Beach. You could do that and still go over to Disney Springs. (I would skip Disney Springs, but I get it with 2 little ones.  If you plan to eat there, just be prepared for $$$.)

If you are not OFF the ship by 9:30 (assuming normal ship arrival) you are delaying ship clearance by CBP to process the back-to-backs and embark new guests. As Morpheusofthesea mentioned this is the most frustrating time on turnaround day for ship crew, shore staff, and CPB.

Thank you, we won't be one of those people who hold up the ship for everyone else!  I was just trying to find out answers as to what to expect on an MSC cruise.

We plan on being out of our cabins by 7am, eat breakfast and get off the ship as soon as they let us!
